2000 Trans Am Convertible
I picked this TA up in July '04. I knew if I bought another F-Body (by the way this is #14 for me) I had to get a stick-vert. Of all the late 4th gen F-Bods, the 2000 production year was the lowest for the convertibles. Only 783 convetible Trans Ams were made in 2000. There were 1078 WS6 verts as well, but the plain TA is a more rare commodity and the WS6 is considered by some as a separate model.
Another nice sideline story about this car is that it was never delivered to a dealership. It was shipped to the GM Training center in Lincroft NJ. It was provided to a GM ASR or trainer and not to the public. After the "lease" was over to the GM Rep, the car went to auction. Then I got it!. So does that make me the first owner?
I'm looking for production numbers broken down by transmission type, color, options, etc. I've seen it for the 2002 model year Firebird but never any other 4th gen year. If you have any info - shoot me an email.
Thanks for visiting.

The accent color...
Everyone ask me "...Why purple..." Well, why the hell not? What accents a Silver car better? Chrome? Yes - Absolutely...but everyone is doing it. Chrome is a bad ass accent for a silver car - but its been done alot already.
Black? Well if you're gonna go to shows you really need something that stands out a little bit more. My other option was a eroyal or electric blue. The blue looked really cool too, but the purple just look perfect with the silver. The rest is history...
