She's almost home.
Lance Nelson of Nelsons Custom Paint (815-466-0077) in grant park ,Il did a fantastic job of making the delta ss look as good as it runs.
its still at the shop, but i was able to snap some photos. and this is after the wet sandings, but BEFORE the final machine glazing. this is his "driver paint job". he has done incredible work, and it would have been easy for him to make it too nice for a daily driver, so we had to reign in the leash, and have him step it down a bit, lol. i had to keep reminding him this car will be getting at least 400 miles a week on her. this beast is made to drive and drive hard.
its a custom mixed 2 tone metallic lt grey/medium grey, both with slight green hint in the right light. it matches the factory interior very nicely. its separated by an airbrushed strip that lance whipped up. he is also doing the ls1 engine covers in the same colors, but they aren't done yet.
here is a quick before and after set of shots. cannot wait to get all the wheel trim, rocker trim, and my imp rims back on her to make it complete(except for tunes) and get some finished photos up.
the colors are close, and in the right light, they look the same. then when you look closely, you see its 2 toned.
then in another angle/different light, theres no question the difference in colors.
