small quick preview...
this is the brake drums from the new 8.5" 3.42 posi rearend sandblasted, por15'd and installed. its just a bit bigger. heh heh....

it is a 5 on 5 bolt pattern vs the factory 4.75, so that forced us to get some new summer tires that are just a bit bigger than the stock 15 x 6 205 70 r 15's...

howabout some nice 94-96 impala 17 x 8.5" rims? looking through the impala boards, i found a gm part number that sells all 4 rims with centercaps, lugnuts, and valvestems for an insane price. the dealership i ordered them from thought i was getting the steel rims, he was wrong, mwa ha ha ha....these fit perfect. 255's, maybe 275's if we can fit them. we had to pull the front 12" rotors from a cop car because they have the 5 on 5 bolt pattern too. easy swap.
update 3/15/5
ITS ALIVE!!!!!!
after all the beers, cursewords, and lost weekends, she fired up this weekend. man, it was music to our ears. i caught the first few minutes on video, i just need to find a free host for them. now the plans are to clean up the wiring, and we have already pulled the entire front uspension off for sandblasting, por 15, new energy suspension and moog parts, as well as edelbrock ias shocks and eibach lowering springs.
i will go on a photo frenzy this weekend. the days of this project are numbered.

wiring?!?! we dont need no stinking wiring. this is actually the computer wiring for the headlights, turn signals, etc..

now THIS is starting to look how the factory would do it.

stock cop car tires.....too ugly for words, but will do the job for the winter to keep the imp rims lookin their best.

front end arms and spindles back from the sandblaster and with a fresh coat of por 15, new moog ball joints and polyurethane bushings. springs are stock, and will be replaced with new lowering springs.

factory impala ss exhaust minus the resonators. we are going to see if these fit and if they do, then a new 2 1/2 system true dual cat back setup will find its way under the delta ss.

quick shot of the 12" calipers with por 15 on them. they are the same calipers as the 11" disc brake setup, so thats good to know.

well, here are the eibach lowering springs... they are 4" shorter than stock...
depending on the springrate, these are either going to rock, or scrape...we are thinking they will be 3 to 3.5 inches lower than stock because the delta weighs less than the impala ss. yes, these are for an impala ss, but they bolt right in.

heres a pic of the completely rebuilt front suspension.
well, it runs, and it moves, and its awesome!!!! its low and mean looking.

the 2nd pic has the imp rim for size reference. they are goin to complete the look of the car!
