Gettin the bigger tires to fit...
Installing the CB, inside & out:
Heres a pic up front, with the handheld Cobra 75WX unit. The unit hooks to the battery back in the middle of the van and the coax to the antenna in the rear of the van.

The installation was pretty simple, though the directions were kinda confusing. Just required my portable drill, a 1/4" drill bit and 1 1/4" hole saw. Drilling holes in the back of my van made me a little nervous, especially during Oregon's rainy season, but it all turned out real nicelike!
Working on the camping setup:
- deep cycle battery
- rear bedbox made with futon for campin
- mini solar cell for extra power
- ac/dc portable cooler fridge

I wanted a more permanent camping bed, so I made a temporary one out of wood. This setup allowed for storage underneath and raised my futon mattress up off of the bed of the van. I might use a cot I recently purchased instead, until I m able to make the final design that permanently bolts to the floor.

I wanted better lighting in the rear of the van, so I found and installed a DC fluorescent lamp that I picked up at Camping World. Its more functional, than pretty. Most of all its much brighter!
Future projects:
- aux fuse panel for extra DC campin utilities
- new & improved campin bed
