PRIMED

After primer...awaiting a good sanding...bumper covers & gfx off...being painted separate

AAAAAAAHHH! My car is a Zebra!

HEHE. Actually it a painters trick.
John added the black as a way to be sure the body was straight as he wet sanded.
The black will remain in any low spots.

The idea being to sand it till there are no low spots. This may take several layers of primer. And multiple times sanding, to get a car perfect. The best thing to do is to use a fast build primer and spray multiple coats of primer before you sand.

Bumper Cover
****************************************
Here is the front bumper.

It had to be stripped down thanks to some doofus who backed into my nose at a restaurant.
We decided to remove the front and rear bumpers to be sure we got a nice clean seam. When you tend to shoot a car over the years w/o removing the removable items, you will get lip of paint. This lip can be either a pain to get level in the future, or it will be a good place for the paint to chip & start to peel as it ages. See it thinks are in your way you can't sand and prep the surface, as well as, you need to and it will become a source of problems in the future.

Here is the front Ground effects off the car.

We had done some intense sanding to strip and remove the factory-cracked paint.
Here are the rear pieces.

The paint was still good and only needed to be scuffed.

Side GFX

Paint did not look too bad, but someone did not properly prep them before they were originally painted.
John explained that urethane parts are notorious for leaching chemicals the first few times they are baked in a paint booth. He says most of the time the parts will have to be cleaned and baked multiple times before primer is added to be sure this leaching has ended.
