'65 Olds Delta 88 is my 2nd car, this is "65jetstar" on cardomain.com. My first car obviously was a '65 Oldsmobile Jetstar 88, but its so far apart its become a on-the-side frame-off rebuild. So I bought a '65 Olds Delta 88 for a low $1200 and I will have a driver '65 and a project '65.On first look, the car looks a little trashy, only because it really needs paint. But this car has:425 4 barrel (puts out 320hp 450tq stock)TH400 transmission3.23 rearendAir conditioningPower WindowsPower LocksPower Trunk PopperPower BenchTilt Column15" Magnum 500 wheelsDeluxe Interior packageAll of this factory.First off, heres a little comparison picture.... On the left is my car's current state, on the right is the day I towed the car home. The rest of these 7 pages are pictures of the work I put into this car...Parked next to my '65 Jetstar 88. My Jetstar 88 and Delta 88 side by side. Door Panel. Front Seat (seats are thrashed and need redoing, rest of interior is good.) Headliner (almost perfect!) The inside of the trunklid, showing the original color of "Ocean Mist." A little polish on the chrome and bam! Rear. All of the rust is surface on this car due to the previous owner sanding the car for a new paintjob but never finishing. Rear after polishing. All of the chrome is near perfect condition, I'm really suprised how well it polishes up. All of the chrome is coming off and the car will be primered and painted soon. I pulled the non-running engine (supposively rebuilt but with standard bearings, so it developed a slight knock). Engine was alot worse than a knock though... When I drained the oil nothing but antifreeze came out so i knew something was wrong. Oil pan had a big dent/hole so i figured it threw a rod. I take off the oil pan and chunks of metal everywhere. A piston completly exploded, bent a rod, put a hole in the cylinder.Since all the car needs to drive is the engine, I got the 330 out from my Jetstar to put in, just to drive the car around and not have two non-running cars. This motor will power the car until I get a proper 425 for the Delta when I make more money to build one. This is after 2 weeks of having this car, I just got my permit so I'm anxious to get it at least running. Plans are to repaint it turquiose and redo the interior to match, lower it a little bit, and put some 14" Astro Supremes on for a cruiser look. I'd like to hear your opinions as to what I should do and don't forget to sign my guestbook!Page 2: Small Block in car.
