This page is dedicated to an amazing car. My 18 year old Dodge Lancer.

I was only 3 when my family drove it off the lot brand new. I basically grew up in the back seat of this car. It took me to school the first day, every dance i had ever been to, and I even learned how to drive myself with it once i became old enough.

My first car was an Oldsmobile Cutless Siera 2 door (you will NEVER find a picture of them online, trust me I've looked) I stupidly traded that beaity in for a brand new Chevy Cavalier, in which I'll post a few pics of but I'm currently selling.

My father kept the Lancer for some time and about a year ago stated he was buying a new car, and wanted to know if I wanted the old beast or if not, he was going to junk it. JUNK IT??!! Well, I couldn't let that happen to a car that literally has marks in it from ME.

I have always loved that car, mostly because whenever my father would fix it, I was right there with grease up my arms and bright eyes staring into that engine. I've been under, around, and every place my dad's hands were to big to reach on that car. I will never junk it.

Now, as it slowly reaches 20, it shall become a classic. I am already beging to restore him. (thats right, this car has Always been a boy) Since my dad pampered this car, I wont have much work when it comes to actually body repair, most work seems to be in the engine itself.

Enjoy the pics!

THIS IS A PIC OF ME, TO PUT A FACE TO THE NAME....

This is the drivers side. As you can see he needs a little more than a new steering wheel cover.

OK, so we see the cancer here slowly killing my baby. But dont you think the roof rack carrier (in which there is no roof rack anymore) looks kinda sporty?

Here is a look at the back. Please dont mind my exhaust pipe, it was a desperate attempt to cover the rust covered one that was there.

A nice front view of the old man. I bought my father that picture of the wolf YEARS ago, for either christmas or fathers day, and there it is, still showing boldly on the front. I'm considering removing it when i paint the car.

This is by far the coolest pic in my opinion.

And here is the total back of the car, with both "Dodge" and "Lancer" viewable. I also have a cool bumper sticker I got at there live show. For now, it suits the car with the whole wolf thing.

WEAR IT WITH PRIDE AND ALWAYS BE TRUE!

2/24/05 update- He lost his cup holder. I could kick myself in the head for breaking it. I'm now on a hunt for a grey one at the local junk yards. Other than that, i've upgraded him to highmilage 20w-50 oil and it seems to have calmed his cough in the mornings. i think i'm having an overheating problem, i find the fan doesn't kick on like it used to and i'm manually putting the heat on in order to keep the engine cool. this is a BIG issue in south florida weather. lol.

3/26/05 update- My dad came over to teach me how to change my brakes, oil and filter, and wipers. Here are some pics including one of the engine. Question for those out there, I'm saving for a paint job, Deep Blue, Dark Grey, or Black?

4/1/05 update- The Lancer's starter went 2 days ago. Not really went, but scared me! :) I had started my car and this aweful noise started with it. I shut the engine down, but low and behold, the sound stayed. Came from the right front. It took my quick thinking to turn the key 5 times to see what errors the computer saw before it quited down. It reluctently started and got me home. My father dropped off some money and I took it to Pepboys today. All in all only about $270 bucks to fix it. I also have a powersteering leak. Grrrr. will it ever end? :)

6/28/05 update- i took the old boy on the longest drive since i've had it, down to miami from north lauderdale. big mistake. the lancer made it down, but on the way back started making some horrible noises. sounded like a belt but was coming from the middle of the engine. it got me home, and my dad took it for a week. it simply stopped making the noise. he was shocked, and concerned. anything making that kind of sound shouldn't just stop like that. well, based off of lots of things, he decided it must have been the balance pully's. i'm so not good with technical terms, so its two chains that run the opposite direction of the belts to smooth the engine. they are not needed to run, and since my engine has been running a lot rougher on idle, but strangely enough has stopped stalling. go figure. if any of you lancer mechanics know what i'm talking about, please enlighten me :)
other than that, he is running fine, but hard. i am currently saving for a new car, but i'm dying to throw my grand i've saved into my old boy, the temptation is killing me. lol

07/11/05- ahhh! i got my first flat today! grrrr! driving home i noticed it, so i pulled over and got to work. fortunatly i had put air into my spare about 3 weeks ago, and i had also bought a large jack around that time too. (i was surprising my boyfriend by changing his flat tire, boy was he impressed) anyway, so i get the car up, switch out the tires, and oh, big surprise, there is a nail in my tire, not the tread though, so thats good. because it's sunday i couldn't find ANY tire place open, but i needed the tired plugged today, so i drove 25 mph to the turnpike (24 service center) and got it plugged there. what fun. only bad thing is being the girl that i am i stripped 2 lug nuts going righty losey, instead of lefty losey. i bought some new ones, with locks? oh well. it was an interesting adventure. i'm getting better and better at surviving on my own during a break down. :)
