x86Daddy's 1981 DeLorean DMC-12I purchased my DeLorean in April of 2004. Since then I have performed various enhancements and maintenance.

Some of the things I've done so far:
I've repaired the air intake, replaced headliners and door struts, cleaned the entire fuel system, rebuilt the clock, and repaired the A/C.

I've updated the cooling system with modern electronics and an overflow.

Due to a burnt out lense and current draw, I've replaced the door lights with LEDs and fabricated new, blue lenses.

Upgraded alternator to a modern, 140 Amp unit.

Installed a new stereo, speakers, and speaker wiring.

Built and installed a custom Car PC that provides music, navigation, hands-free phone operation, more.

Repaired / updated Auto Trans Governor computer with modern, more robust electronics.

Installed Gentex auto-dimming / homelink / temp / compass mirror (and published a guide)

Repaired / updated door lock module with modern electronics; changed to single key system

Upgraded Heat Shielding with modern materials.x86Daddy's 1981 DeLorean DMC-12

Todo list:
Recover binnacle, put in new EL backlit gauge cluster

Replace all cooling lines

Upgrade suspension

Nice DeLorean. Those new blue L.E.D. door lights are looking really good. Keep up the great work on your car. Sign my g-book. Thanks!

Real Nice DeLorean I have been wanting one for a REAL LONG time. Do you know about the Bill Heard Car Show in Collierville that they have each year? It is held at the Central Baptist Church parking lot August 16th. If you entered your car it would be a real show stopper. I have entered my 1964 Chevy stepside pickup for the last 3 years they have about 300 500+ cars each year.

If you're looking for speaker space, flat speakers sound as good as regular, and are only a little more expensive. I've seen them installed in a headliner, with little to show that they exist.
