Yesterday, at 2AM, Mirage died. She found her way down a hill backwards and totalled the back end.

This car (and website) will no longer be updated. Here are some picstures of what happened that morning.

I began the Cut & Buff proccess today. WOW! What a difference. I did half the hood just to compare, and it's gorgeous. I understand now why people invest the time and energy into it. It looks like glass, simply amazing. I'll try to grab some pics of hte actual work tomorrow.

April 9, 2005

Massive upadte. I added all my "Painting Process" pics on page 6. That section is now closed. I'll add some more pics of actual work (like the new spare tire color) to page 6. All the "Beauty Shots" will be on page 7. Keep posted. Look for new stuff Wednesday!

April 7, 2005 -:- PROJECT COMPLETE!

As promised, Mirage is complete! Unfortunatley weather has been bad for the past 24 hours and I can't get any good sunlight pictures. This weekend when I have some time I'll sit down and load up some pics from the painting process. I'm very happy with the results. I noticed last night that the base Gold looks silver at night, very sweet.

You'll get some pics soon, just give me time to get all 100+ pics at a managable size.

April 2, 2005

I've added some more pictures on page 5. I've got some of some body work and some pics of the actual paint. Take a gander.

I was planning on finishing the body work today, BUT, it's snowing. Wierd, it's been 65+ degrees all week, and now it's 42 and snowing. That makes me mad. So... later tonight, I'm going to go make my stencils. Which means for you, an 11th page and a write up on how I made them.

No jokes here, sorry. lol.

Anyway, today I made the big $300 purchase. I bought the paint. The colors were chosen the other night, and I went and bought everything to prep for paint.

I'll spend this weekend getting ready to paint on Monday. Heck, if I could I'd roll the car into the paint-booth with paper on and everything, lol.

So here's what you can expect. My final batch of Post-Primer pictures. These pics will be added Sunday night. By Wednesday night(if I'm not too tired) I'll add my painting photos and videos, and by the end of the week, I'll have the beauty pics.

In the mean time, I'll be adding pictures on the final few steps. In the coming hour: The paint swatches I chaose, for those of you curious, and what I bought today.

March 25, 2005 - 2

I ran outside and took some pics. Got 8 pictures for you on page 5 (Post Primer). Take a look. Nothing special, but you can see the new progress... and why the car is called "THe Nanner Mobile" - That's Nanner as in Bannana.

March 25, 2005

I did some work at home today. Mainly wetsanding. Spring break ends today at the college so I'll be back at the shop working next week. Unfortunatley, my camera has decided to take a crap and not work. That makes me mad. I hope to knock out a LOT of work in the coming week.

I'm closing in. Not a whole lot left to do other than minor body work and picking colors.

I PROMISE that this ride will have a new paint job on it NO LATER than APRIL 8 so keep checking back!

March 17, 2005

Sorry for the lack of image updates. Craziness in the real world has led me to either not go to the shop and work, or forget my camera. D'oh. You're not missing much though. Right now, the car is just primered, I'm sanding and doing body work. That's really all. I'm getting very close to be ready for paint, so that will bring in a LOT of images, and maybe a video or two, we'll have to see.

-------------------------
March 10, 2005

Alright. To be honest, not a lot is going on. I'm slowly but surely working my way through the body-work. I'm aiming for perfection, so I'm using layer after layer of bondo. It sucks, but it's coming. I'll get some pics as soon as I have a chance (and a good sunny day). Right now, Mirage is just yellow with some spots of grey.

For those of you who keep checking in on me, I hope you're enjoying this!

The Work Part I has been updated and closed. I haven't added anything to The Work Part II yet, but there's a TON of pictures and info in Part I. Take a look. Something like 10 new pictures or so. I'll add pics of the whole thing in Tech Primer soon (there's snow outside right now, lol). Enjoy!

February 23, 2005

Mirage has soem color! YAY! After spending 11 hours in the past two NIGHTS, I finally got her primered. I will post pics tomorrow of the process of stripping and working the old paint-job to get it how I needed it. She's very yellow, and pretty ugly, but she's primed none the less. So, bee looking for a major update in The Work Part I, and the closing of that section! YES!

-------------------------
February 19, 2005

Progress is slow going. I need some Primer, which I should get here come Monday. Then I can begin wetsanding and prepping my car for some paint. I've stripped the Drivers side and hood as my pictures show, and I've done a little bit of Bondo work. Next week, I'll put in over time and hopefully get the whole car primed and bondoed as needed.

Well, I finally got around to creating a Journal page. Take a look around. As I add things to this site, Ill say so here. For now, if youve been here before, check out the Work (part i) page. I added some things there.

Anyway, enjoy my site. Feel free to drop a note in my guestbook, I love getting feedback on my current work.

I think it's a wonderfull suv, however don't let the army get a hold of it. Now you need to put the truck in mud, where they like to be to cool off haha
