500 of these sport edition 924S were built for the US market to celebrate Porsche's 12th outright victory at Le Mans. The sport edition included many changes. Stiffer suspension shocks, bushings and stabilizers were added. Power windows, power locks, passenger side mirror and rear wiper were deleted to save weight. A lightweight cloth fabric was used instead of the heavier leather. The final touch was a smaller diameter leather wrapped steering wheel. This car also benefits from the increased compression ratio of the euro-spec pistons (10.2-1). The bump in CR provides an extra 10-15 hp over the US-spec engines.
I am looking for the parts needed to go convert the car for racing since the "thin" upholstry is showing signs of wear and the car is a blast to drive. Also, I would like to get rid of the dumb and heavy flip-up headlights so I am looking for ideas.
