2006: ENGINE COMPARTMENT MAKEOVER: HIDING THE WIRING: PART I
************************************************************************************************************************
********************************************************
Getting started on the factory wiring
********************************************************
The easiest way was to first deloom things and see about separating what wires went where. This is the messiest and the most confusing stage...
********************************************************
Passenger side
********************************************************
Here we are diving in...

All the ones we plan to tuck under the fender instead of running thru the engine bay...

Now all taped up! Much neater and easier to handle

Look how much neater with them gone...

********************************************************
Top loom
********************************************************

Here it is as it crosses the top of the tranny in the tranny tunnel...

Starting to take off the loom and sift thru it! Pulling it all back thru the fender hole and to the passenger side...

Look how clean it looks w/ all that loom out of site!

Here is the wiring as its getting sorted from its entrance point @ the body from the computer in the dash...

Sorting and taping off accessories from one another...

********************************************************
Routing thru the cowl...
********************************************************
Now we had to figure how we would reroute this mess. Keeping it all going to where it needs to, but hidden from site... Where else but where GM had put it... then while I was looking at the passenger side with the fender off I noticed something...

This is the exit for any water entering the cowl. Then I got to looking at all that spare room in the cowl area! This would be perfect to run those lines...

Here we go running them thru the cowl and up thru the fenders...

Some coming out the cowl to reconnect...
