===================================================================================
Update 4-5-08 I'm still alive! For the last year, I've stopped using Cardomain and resorted strictly to LR forums. I no longer have the time to post up photos and blogs on multiple websites, but you can follow my adventures and progress at www.lrrforums.com and www.nclrclub.org. The rover is still in one piece and I've been on a bunch of great trips since the last update, though it has all taken a back seat to college, as school now takes up much of my time. Until I'm able to get back on here and make some updates, I've posted a list of my favorite online LR related links at the top of this page for everyone to check out.
Update 3-7-07 Wow, a lot changes in only a month. Well, I've got an announcement to make. I prematurely announced the axle build, because I've just been accepted into the out of state college that I was hoping to go to, and I must choose to pursue an education over my personal hobby. Even with the scholarship, it will be a fortune. I am very excited and very happy about this, but unfortunately, I will not be able to afford to do the axle build this summer unless a miracle happens....it is just too darn expensive considering I'm going to have to buy books, and probably a new computer. I do want to work on some sort of project, and so I will probably be getting rock sliders and some more armor. Since I'm pretty definite on getting some armor if I have money to spend, I've changed the poll accordingly.
Update 2-12-07 Happy New Year! Well, I guess I'm a bit late on that one. Sorry for no update in quite some time. I've been busy with school and life and haven't put the time in to update my cardomain page. Before we start, I must apologize for the videos not functioning. They will be unavailable as I move my server to a new host. Thx.
The new exciting news is that the rover is getting BIG. A move to 35-37" tires with a yota FZJ80 axle swap is in the works. The actual build will take place during this summer and it will be very exciting. It will be a very clean job and may entail a few more items while I'm at it....much of the armor I have been postponing to build/bolt-on is because I was in anticipation of a change of tire size and didn't want to be limited by slider length without modification for example. Below, I've included a crude representation of the rover on 37"s. I am aware of how the fenders are uneven in this picture...its just to give a rough perspective. Also, if you were wondering, I recently had my tires siped at Les Schwab and while they were at it, they ripped the bolts off my tire carrier. One of the things which will be coming soon is a Warn XJ tire carrier welded to my new bumper.

Update 10-28-06 Yay! Bumper stage 1 is complete. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, we are unable to create the support arms, tank skid or tire carrier till next summer, but ill post what I do have. Btw, the bumper is completely square and flat, due to some objects that will need to be cut soon the bumper is being pushed down the right side a tad.

Update 10-27-06 Yep...still working on the bumper. Since the last post ive put perhaps 2-3 days into it. The whole thing would probably only take a week and a half, but we get so little time. Anyhow, another working pic, and an older pic from a snow hill of death.

Update 9-1-06 Still working on the bumper. Only have had a few good days to work on it so far, it is about 65% complete. About 90% of the cutting is finished. Ive got this instrument panel diagram that im posting for a friend.

Update 8-11-06 Finally came back from all these small vacations/trips and started the bumper. Just bought the steel and turn signals. Ive also incorporated a swing out tire carrier to hold a 34-35" tire.

Update 7-22-06 Custom bumper comming soon; here's the plan so far:

Update 7-10-06 Pismo Trip finally happened. Just got back yesterday after a long drive. It was a great trip, here are some selected pics:

Update 5-7-06 Pondering about an FZJ80 or Dana 60 rear/44 front axle swap to run 35"-36" tires. A representation of mine with 35s:

Update 5-5-06 Finally, the rest of the steel wheels are installed. Getting ready for the Pismo Beach trip comming up at the end of the month. Stay tuned for tons of pics!

Update 3-11-05 Just put on my one steel wheel.....I destroyed a wheel at Hollister so I needed to get another one and went steel in the process. I also bought a diff fill plug from EE, my plastic one was sheared off at Hollister.

Update 2-25-05 Hollister, CA trip pictures have been posted. Also, here are three pics of my new Vigg Designs hood blackout:

Update 2-9-06 I removed my fender flares today, and wow it was painful......go to page 18 to check it out.
Update 2-2-06 A rover owner is found in reno!!...and he has a D-90?.. yes that is right, I finally found another rover owner with some enthusiast passion, and he does, in fact, own a '97 AA Canary Yellow Defender 90.....in prestine condition. I PSed one white.

Update 1-26-06 Seriously considering now about getting wheels line-x'ed.....came up with this to simulate it....though the line-x would be not quite so dark.

Update 1-24-06 No time to talk except that the lift is in. Pics on pages 16 and 17. Also cut the grills off the aux. lights and painted them.

Update 1-9-06 Alright! The shipment with the shocks has come in today! Here are some pictures of the shocks, comparisons between the long body and remote res shocks and some shots of the slickrock quick disconnects.

Update 1-8-06 The slickrock quick disconnects have just been put on...I've ordered the parts and only half has come so far but anyway here we go;
I already have:
2x 751 OME Springs
2x 781 OME Springs
2x EE 1" spacer
What I ordered (from RTE and EE):
1x rear spring retainer kit (EE)
4x DI spring seats (give .75" raise and eliminate slack for spring retainers)
4x Biltsein 7100 remote res/long body shocks (custom valved, etc., RTE)
1x Slickrock front swaybar disconnects
And accessories;
-RTE ABS extensions
-RTE extended brake lines
-Biltsein shock reducing spacers
-RTE front lower shock mounts
-RTE cross member spacers
Insane cheap bastard approach if you already have OME springs......I want SR springs but they will have to wait...for $60 I just bought new DI spring seats and called it a day.
Update 12-31-05 I woke up today to a flooding reno; its like the day after tomorrow here. Many roads are closed and have turned into rivers. The main river, the truckee river, has risen to the point where it is overflowing and nearly covering bridges.
Update 12-25-05 Have to warn you guys about the bulb upgrade....1156LL's are a tad (understatment) too powerful...they started to melt the lamp. Now ive got two ugly melted spots in my tail lights :( Have to just suck it up and live with it....unless I can find someone parting out some DII's and get the lights for cheap. New from Will Tillery are $65/lamp....too much. I didnt melt holes in them, only melted it to the point where it started to cave in....so at least they are still water tight. I believe this mod would be fine if I used a less powerful bulb....untill then I will stick with the stock bulbs. Again, I wanted to warn you guys...
Update 12-23-05 Just got in my stuff from Will Tillery. I ordered a pair of DI wiper arms, a DI 3 switch carrier, and 4 switches and installed them all. I also went to walmart and bought two packs of 1156LL Sylvania bulbs for my rear tail lights. They are not the recomended lights, they are better...a bit. They are a tad brighter then the stock lights, and will last longer. What I did though was replace the tiny dim nighttime running bulbs in the assemblies with these bulbs. To do this I had to use a drill (all I had) to widen the hole to fit the large bulbs. Here is the install:

Update 12-22-05 Just got my new lugs, they havnt been put on yet. Months ago when I got my M/T tires the place that put them on completly destroyed them....anyhow, I just found out about two weeks ago and called them. They are great guys and they have a reputation for pulling through on thier work....without hesitation the manager says that he will replace all twenty and to go the local dealer and they will be ready for picup when I get there. I go over and pick them up....I ask how much it costs per lug and he said they cost $20.00/lug.....$400.00 for the set and hands twenty to me. I felt really bad because I know the manager and he originally sold be new BFG M/T's for $300 off thier price.....I then looked at the invoice and it said $190.00.....so I guess he was able to make a deal with the LR dealer....they are both part of this reno business network "buddy buddy" system. I am going to have them be put on free of charge when I get my free tire rotation in about two weeks (after I put on my new Biltein 7100's)

Update 12-21-05 Just added more LRO.com stickers on my rig. One for each side;

Update 12-19-05 Modifications for this winter are comming in. In the next 3 weeks I will be getting and installing Bilstein 7100 long travel remote res. shocks. I broke one or more OME shocks (can feel and hear it), but my lugs were all stripped by the shop that put my tires on so im not able to look at them. As soon as I get that resolved this week, im going to see exactly what was destroyed. With the 7100's come stuff like ABS and brake line extensions too.....just cant wait!

Update 12-18-05 First snow in reno. It snowed 6-7in and we had a blast off-roading above caughlin ranch! We also helped out a guy that got himself stuck pretty bad in his jeep grand cherokee. Also blew ABS code/s so my instrument panel got pretty festive;
