This is my 1979 Dodge B200 318 custom van with 105k miles. With joy, I inhereted this beast from an uncle who had cared for it since 1980. It's "3-on-the-tree" with wood grain veneered interior, black captains chairs, foldout futon and light grey carpeting. Mods include the basics: A K&N filter, 8mm wires, Accel coil, dual-point Mallory distributor, NGK plugs, Sony head unit and pioneer 3-ways. It was originally equiped with a sink/cooler unit w/drain and a centered cocktail table with convertable chess board. I removed both in order to slide my surfboards up the middle. Nothing beats a van for a quiver of 10' surfboards. Still have the sink/cooler unit and table in the basement for another day.
It has the typical rust here and there but the rocker pan els were replaced not to long ago. I think most noteworthy is the custom painted graphics on this whip. The classic fog lights are also a nice fit as they are "period" fogs and not late model plastic. Finding replacement beams for the fogs was pretty tough. Think garden tractor lights.
I have only really done the necessary mechanicals to keep her road-worthy: brake hoses, brake lines, wheel cylinders, front calipers, rear shocks, a few carb rebuilds, tires, basic tune ups, oil changes and exhaust.
I really love driving this bear on the open road and with the right means, I think this van could be brought back to a "vantastic" state.
