Wow it must have been like 6 months since the last time I updated this thing! But, you all know, Rome wasn't built in a day. And neither is my pickup hehe. Anyway, progress.
My truck was a Saginaw standard 3 speed. Sometime during the winter, I swapped that for a TH350 automatic transmission. I'm proud to report that it works great, except that there is no kickdown as of yet so I have to shift down into 2 to activate the passing gear.
I also rebuilt a steering column for automatic on the column and put that in. And painted it black. Because black matches everything. I also put in a tachometer.
I had the timing gear cover and oil pan seals replaced and am currently expericencing no oil leaks (from the engine). The transmission is another story.
Just recently, I converted from a stock points distributor to a Delco-Remy HEI ignition. This works great! I've noticed improvements in acceleration, mileage, and just overall smoothness.
I wrapped it all up in spray can classic Chevy ORange Hi-Temp paint. One can covered all major areas, including the oil pan. Looks brand new, minus the rigged power steering brackets!
My next point of action is too upgrad to a 2 barrel carburetor and put in a set of "Stovebolt" headers and have dual exhaust built. I'll dres her up with chrome, of course. Hopefully even a tow hitch and I'll take my truck on it's first camping trip for the last 20+ years! Pictures, of course, are a necessity...

Recent Pics... no actual progress.
Me and pop took our trucks out fo "twin shots". The last time we did this was before my truck was painted...
A few days later a flood occured and I had fun driving "drifting" in the mud that all the water had left.

Christmas 005
Well I got some good shit (keep in mind I'm still 16 so receiving Christmas gifts from parents is not immature). I got a black dash pad and high performace SunPro chrome guages and tachometer. I also got the hood letters from a junkyard. My father is switching his truck to 5 lug disc brakes so I might be getting his chrome spoke wheels which will look awesome!
Short Canoeing Trip- Nov 5
Me and a pal loaded up a canoe onto the truck, strapped her down, took this picture, and then left. It was pretty fun, and I enjoyed using my truck as she really is, a truck. And then washed and waxed her.

I've been driving my truck for a while now. I love driving her but I HATE that inline 6 with a vengeance! Its constantly looking for new ways to spoil my cruising experience as a young adult. This may influence the need to murder dozens of innocents of all ages through the popular conviction of vehicular manslaughter........ or I'll just have to get a jpb and buy something with a little more umff and doesn't make weird noises. I washed her and took her for a photo shoot outside the nearby ballfield.

I have the interior all fancied up with my carpet and the junkyard seats, which could pass for new. Truck is now my everyday driver.

Recent engine work on page 3...
I forgot to mention that I also finished replacing the driver side door hinge, so now the door doesn't open a complete 90 degrees.
This truck did not come stock with a passenger side visor so I gave it one. A few small steps from math class (thanks Mrs. Boles), four drillings later, and now a passenger side visor. I've also hung the rearview mirror. And I didn't realize I'd been driving it around with an unbolted gas tanks, so I went ahead and took care of that too.
I ordered: molded carpet (grey), chrome sill plates, choke cable, matching chrome mirrors, and a nice shiny ignition bezel.
I also went to the junk yard and found a sporty pair pair of grey seats out of a Mazda 626. Slight metal work, and homemade spacers, and those suckers will be on tight. I went with a grey on blue color scheme because, after driving my dad's Chevy in the hot sun, black just sucks. PLain and simple.

All windows are in, as you can see by the pictures. I took her for a short drive and am warming up to the worn out clutch. My father helped a man get a job and now this man has a 350:350 crate engine, only 23,000 miles, that hes willing to let go to us for 200 bucks. I'm keeping my fingers crossed :)
July 28
I shined up all the chrome that'll be involved with putting in the windows. Today I put in the windshield and back window and gave the cab a sponge bath (didn't wanna get the inside wet). Once I can pass as legal, you bet your ass I'll be taking a shit pile full of posing pictures in front of different-a-many scenes. I'm really happy. Good night. Oh, and pics of course.

The glove box and its door with push button now in place...

July 22
I ordered the rubber seals for all glass pieces plus a glove box and should be in 3-4 days. I will also be purchasing the windshield and back windows very soon. I, of course, will not hesitate to get these in immediately. I should be driving her, legally I might add, within a month!!! I'm so happy I could literally piss my pants. I can not wait. With all these hip-hop "gangstas" rolling around on "dubs" or whatever they call them, I call them wheels. Its time to put some redneck back in this town!

Went to Pick n Pull yesterday. Found a 71 Burban and started taking what I needed. Since I'm fixin up a pickup all of the perfectly good tinted glass left in the Suburban was useless to me. I did find a chrome "wing window" for the driver side as well as chrome strips for the door panels. All of the chrome on the front was there and lookin great! But its for a 71 and mine is what? A 67. I also took the interior light housing and the push-button for the glove box.
July 2
Ok, I told you guys I was gettin the INSIDE ONLY painted right? Well some of the fine people that painted it can't speak/read English. So what happens? They painted the whole truck by mistake! I wasn't even ready cuz I didn't do any bodywork. But you know what? It is the shit! She still looks better! And I didn't have to pay for the outside because it was there fault! Check it out!
Jun 24
Took truck to Maaco to get painted.
Jun 16
Pops and I welded the broken door supports today. By supports, I mean the little plates that keep the sides of a door from caving in to the glass (located near the vent window's long "stem"). Also closed up some holes in the firewall and patched up the right kick panel. Got the old heater-fan to work! Amazing! Trip to Maaco very, very soon! Not a recent pic, but...
Apr-Jun 2005
The interior has been completely sanded down and is ready for paint. Waiting for money to rake on in, my job pays minimum wage. Looking towards blue, hope it gets done soon.
Dismantling Interior, Mar. 2005
I began disassembling the major components of the interior. Once all nonmetallic surfaces were removed, I began sanding on the dash. I also took out the door windows. All door wondows were in fairly good condish.
Pops and I took out both trucks for a photo opportunity. Take a look!
After realizing that it would be a year or two before the exterior was painted, I decided to re-primer the front and give the truck a "Raiders" look.
Feb 2005
Well, I'm proud to say I got to drive this wonder all the way to the dump (and no I did not leave it there). While we were there, we thought it best to just kick out the old windshield. It was kinda cold when we drove back...... we started to weld in new patches for the window lip.
Jan 2005
We just picked up this Beast from Pete, the same guy who did the body work on my dad's truck. We had him replace the rocker panels, a cab corner, and remove all dents from the interior only.

Christmas
This Christmas I received truck parts. I have a brand new SONY X-plod and a custom plate frame that says "Danny's 67 Chevy". Unfortunately, the truck is no near ready to have these things installed.
Early Winter 2004
I went to the junkyard and found a new hood hinge along with a passenger side door hinge and a pair of visors.I've installed one visor and both hinges.
