gpgt1's 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix This is my 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GT after 3 years of owning it, was stock when I got it. I'm a member of the Ontario Quebec Club Grand Prix WWW.OQCGP.COM. So far I've debadged the car replaced the stereo and moded the way the car looks and performs. You can see the stereo on the next page.
gpgt1's 2001 Pontiac Grand Prixgpgt1's 2001 Pontiac Grand PrixFirst real performance mod was an Overkill PCM, no speed limiter for me haha. It also has a performance trac control that modualtes timing instead of cutting fueling, second gear start for winter in 2. 4-2 skip shift. Tuned for 91 octane fuel and all sorts or other goodies.
gpgt1's 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix I started having intake gasket trouble and MAF problems. so.....
gpgt1's 2001 Pontiac Grand PrixI installed the new HV3 from ZZPerformance. It seems to have brought up the top more allot more. It came with an intake gasket that would have cost me 120$ alone so a pretty cheap mod for 200$. I also got a TB spacer.
gpgt1's 2001 Pontiac Grand PrixThen I got the Bigger Throtle body. I needed a new MAF, this one came with all the sensors for the price of a MAF. Came with a tuned PCM as well. I then hand ported the throtle body and removed the MAF hump. Then painted it red.
gpgt1's 2001 Pontiac Grand PrixThen I cut out and gutted my intake box and droped a K&N in there. Sounds a bit more aggresive like that too.
gpgt1's 2001 Pontiac Grand PrixOn the exhaust side I polished the tips with sand paper. 120 grit, I find if they looks brushed the are the brightest. My mufflers are stock but they flow well.
gpgt1's 2001 Pontiac Grand PrixWhat's not stock is my 2.5" downpipe with Magnaflow high flow cat, no U-bend and no resonator.

gpgt1's 2001 Pontiac Grand PrixBefore I started making it go fast though the first mod I did was F-Body Camero brakes. They are lighter than stock, have 12" rotors over the 10.9's and are dual piston instead of single, they should reduce the stoping distance by a little over 20 feet. and they save 10 pounds on top of that!
gpgt1's 2001 Pontiac Grand PrixThats me holding the torque wrench the day I did the brakes, in the snow, in the middle of the woods. I do almost all the work on my car.
gpgt1's 2001 Pontiac Grand PrixAnother picture of those new brakes. If those calipers were any bigger they wouldn't fit behind the wheel

gpgt1's 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix I'm trying to keep everything on the car black, red and silver/stainless. So keeping with the theme I painted my engine cover red with silver writing and painted the cross braces silver, I think it looks better that way.
gpgt1's 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix Every car needs tinted windows it just looks better! and mine are 20% in the front and 5% in the back. I was able to tint the side windows myself with the glass out of the car but had to get someone to do the back. The upside is the guy at the tint shop was really cool and just charged me for materials and a bit and actualy tought me how to do it. I took the break light out too so the tint covers the entire window.
gpgt1's 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix Can't see through my windows, unless they're down of course.
gpgt1's 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix The head lights on the car are decent but we can do better. Since HID costs way more than I want to spend on lights I opted on just upgrading mine to 80/100watt bulbs from the stock 55/65watt set up. Now of course to make a difference those bulbs need to be supplied the current they need so I upraded my wires all to 14 awg with relays on the stock wires The whole harness I built can be removed from the car and none of the stock components were modified of removed. I try to always keep my wiring as clean as possible and always protect it with split loom.
gpgt1's 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix Once I got this pic on Cardomain you couldn't see the difference between the 2 bulbs as much, It shows up better strait off the camera. You can still see though that the drivers side bulb is brighter than the other, they are both on the upgraded harness. The difference in brightness is even bigger using the stock bulb on the stock harness. I recomend this mod.
gpgt1's 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix Nothing shines like mothers lol, in the summer my car is always cleaned and waxed, I love having a nice and clean car.
gpgt1's 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix Dont forget to check out the stereo on page 2 its the best part!

Looking good Andrew. How come your location says you are in California? Question about the ABS disable. Is the AC automaticly disabled when you pull the #28 fuse? I gave you 5* for your ride

Sweet a$$ ride; kudos on the stereo work, looks really sharp. I do agree with you on wanting the deck to be red as well, but it looks good as it is. Keep up the good work.
