I have a 1977 el camino classic. it is in full restoration and modification mode. i've got sooo many plans and mayhemf1's 1977 Chevrolet El Caminocurrent projects going on this it's not even funny.
here are some pictures from one of my big projects. the floors were totally gone and the back wall had major rust holes leaking into the cab.

yea thats it just the two little levers u push on, works real well, what wouldn't be a bad idea is to weld a bar bout 5 inches long on the two then just push on that

hey, to shave that handle take the regular handle out and use a piece of sheet metal and weld it in and then the body shop used puddy to finish it up and painted the car, for the inside to open it theres a panel u take out and there's 2 little levers in there u push em both and it opens the gate if u have any more questions lemme know
