spankmesugar's 1985 Toyota Corona
What u need to know bout the blue beast
This little blue beast is my first car and I haven't done anything to it besides a filter upgrade and put bosch super 4's plugs. (Cmon ive only had it for a bit over a week!)
It needs more cosmetics than anyting cos the motor runs really well, there is a dint in the left quater panel and the paint has faded somethin shockin, but in time (when i have the money) this will change.
In future I am going to put a 2 inch exhaust, extractors, but I am first going to put a JVC head unit, infinity 6 by 9's on a custom parcel shelf and replace the usless stock front speakers with pioneer 4 inch speakers.
i'll update this page when I feel like it so you can see whats going on with it.
Can someone please tell me how to properly take out the annoying emission stuff without stuffing the engine?

Hmm. Bought a rona (85 Avante) back in January this year, Auto with the 2.4lt motor -and same paint colour as yours!!! (albeit with rust in areas...) They are indeed a good car - mine has 176,000+ ks and still strong. Will set up a page here soon for u all to see.

Well for a cheap easy way of getting more power outta ur engine, do what i did. On ur exhaust just before the Diff is a split joiner that joins up the "tail" part of ya exauhst sys, unfortunately this tail bit contains this big chunky "restaint" type muffler. so undo the bolts on that clamp and take that later part of ya system off. But don't throw it away!! keep everything cuz ya may wanna put it back on, now u've got practicaly no resistance on ya exauhst end, and its not loud! quiet yet beefy and deep. sounds mad. umm play around with ur mixture screw on ya carb, see what suits u in the way of performance and economy. Advance ya spark a little, but not so fast as to let it ping. pick up a universal LSD kit for bout 200-300bucks then you'll really feel a kick in the tale, leave ya pizza cutters on and she'll go off in the wet. umm and yeah after that and wen ur willing to open ya wallet, build up a non turbo beast.. Heavy duty clutch, extractors, Cam, twin carbs, flowed head, 2 1/2" exhaust with straight through mufflers, high compression pistons, new higher performance valves and springs... and thats it u'll be out showin up commo's and tell that celica dude to get a rear wheel drive cuz there will be no way he could keep up with ya driftin', nothin beats a RWD. Peace out man.

I got my full exhaust syst done for 300 at right price exhaust its in moss st, slacks creek, its a big tuner area in south east qld. so my advice would be to go to an exhaust speacialist, my guess is u went to autobarn or sumtin similiar if not they are tryin to take advantage of u, that or uv bin qouted for a performance brand and my advice is if u want a brand exhaust would be lukey but nothin else otherwise go no brand, i mean ur only listenin to it rumble and lookin at the shiny metal! also thought u mite like to no i got lukey extractors for $300 aswell, fully installed like the exhuast. dont accept anything more! As for the pod filter, people will tell u it cant be done coz of carbie, thats wrong! can be done, but with difficulty, problem is theyre lazy and couldnt be bothered, if u do i recomend gettin a heat shield for it and cold air intake like im about to. Thing is u can lose just as much power as u can gain if ur enlargened filter is only suckin in hot air! As for sound syst with the 6x9s i mite giv that a go next summer hols, otha wise ill just get 2 10s. Also keep an eye on my space for the next few weeks, i got sum more new pics of wat iv done to load up, plus some more mods im bout to do,custom interior, dash conv, maybe a tint job plus those engine mods i talked bout. neway look forward to seein ur beast evolve! laters
