I got my BII in early '04.
Bone stock with the dinky little P205 tires on it.

The only mod I could find on it was an old Cobra radar detector that was in the front grille and no longer worked. It also appears it had the crappy (floppy) flag-style side mirrors that had been replaced with the older "swingaway" style mirrors.

The stock dual-CV rear driveshaft (junk) was already making it's classic "clackety-clack" noise signaling it's impending demise, so no hesitation was made to start with the mods.

5-speed stickshift (FM146--- A M5OD is on hand just in case, so far the little 146 is still pluggin' along)
5" lift (3" suspension + 2" bodylift)
35x12.50R15 BFG Mud-Terrains on 15x8 steelies
HP D35 front axle
31-spline 8.8" rear axle (disc brake)
5.13 axle gears
Dual t-case (117:1 crawl)
Home-built rocksliders, bumpers, and rollcage
Warn M8000 winch with syn. rope
Pacer "Flexy-Flares" rubber fender flares
Rear-mounted dual batteries
Slightly stretched wheelbase (98")
Fuel tank raised 2" (using space available from the bodylift)
