Making a pattern for the Snorkel.

Applying pattern to truck.

If you don't drill carefully, the hole saw will climb out of the hole and trash your paint job. The saw size is 31/4".

Mounted snorkel. I used 3" drier vent to make connection with the airbox. It was the only thing I could find that was flexable enough to make the bends.

Air nibblers are awesome for doing fender cutouts. There were still a few spots I needed a sawsall or die grinder though. The nibbler leaves little half moons (thousands of them) all over your shop so be careful not to track them into the house!

I mounted the front flair in the stock holes, removed the fender and trimmed the sheet metal with the nibbler. I was able to bend a lip using a hammer on either side. It was then treated with rust preventative, primed and painted. I'm not quite done with the fender liners yet. I trimmed them and used a heat gun to reform them a bit but they need work. I plan on going back with plastic or rubber to fill in the gap between liner and fender. The way it is now, the tires fling crap up against the front of my doors.

The rear is more straight forward. I just used the flair as a guide and nibbled along it's edge.

There is an inner brace between the fender and the bed that needs attention. A sawsall made quick work of it. I plan on coming back and adding liners to the rear as well.

MFG of rock sliders. A bit overkill with 2" sch 80. That is 1/4" wall for those of you who don't know. Very strong but kind of heavy.

Note use of quality paint equipment. Only the finest ingredients used on my truck!!!

I chose to mount between crossmembers and brackets because it was easier than mounting to the body mounts. Seems to be plenty strong (I can use them as lift points without flex).
I still have to go back and add the bolts to the gas tank mount. I may have to loosen the tank and move it to the side to drill the holes and get the bolts in.

I have some wing peices to mount to better protect the rocker panels but I needed them early and decided to mount them without.

Some pics of the finished sliders with wings attached (and used!).

Lookie what I made for the D-35. I bought the skid and added the pumpkin protection. Aluminum and rocks don't mix!
I love my ARB!
