TIL POTENSIELLE KJPERE:
SIDE 6 ER FULL AV NYE BILDER TATT FOR EN UKE SIDEN!!! OG LITT INFO.

My name is Paul Espen Johannessen. I'm a 22 year old student from Norway. At zcar.com I go by the name 260Z_Norway.

My car is a 1975 260Z 2+2. (I know they stopped producing the 260Z in 74 in the US, but this is a european version, and over here the 260Z was sold until 1978 and the 280Z was never introduced on the market.)

I have owned my beloved Z about one and a half years now. When I bought it, the previous owner had already installed an intake(With injectors, fuel rail etc), electronic module distributor, ECU and an afm, all of which came off a 2.4 Nissan Maxima. He had also installed a Rajay turbo, an intercooler from a Saab 900T, 2.5 inch exhaust and glasspack muffler, and an oil-cooler. To supply enough gasoline for this setup, he installed two extra injectors just before the throttlebody, facing the opposite direction for better fuel optimization. and more even distribution of the extra gas. A Microdynamics piggyback computer controls these two injectors, which is regulated by a map- sensor. To get enough brake-power for these extra horses, he installed 4- piston calipers at the front, and greenstuff brakeshoes at the rear. He also installed a turboclutch.

After buying the car, I imidiately began upgrading it. One of the first things that had to be changed was the transmission, as the original didn't cope with these forces. I then figured that when the car was first off the ground, I could give the entire car a total makeover. Most of the parts I have bought from MSA and Summit Racing. This has been quite expensive, because of the shipping and custom taxes etc. But Z parts aren't widely available here in Norway, since there aren't many of these cars around.

I have done the following to the car:

Chassis and bodywork:

Stripped the car totally under when changing the transmission. Used a heatpistol and scraped most of the salt protection etc off, and used gasoline to rub off the rest. Minor rust damage was repaired using fiberglass. Then I used two layers of primer, and then several layers of paint. I'm not going to drive the car in the winter, so I didn't add rust protection on top of that. Everything was removed from the inside. I cleaned and painted the interior, and added sound dampening materials.

Exterior:
- Tinted side and rear marker lamps, removed the ones in front and installed clear ones in the grille instead
- Removed plastic protection on the bumpers
- New weatherstripping
- New electric antenna
- Fiberglass airdam from MSA
- 16 inch Compomotive rims with 205/55 tyres
- Lowered 1.5 inches

Interior:
- New carpets
- Painted the rear seats
- Seatbelts for the rear seats
- Sparco Sprint seats with 4-point Seatbelt Harness
- New armrest, gearknob, gearboot, and parking brake boot in leather
- Leather steering wheel
- Removed clock and installed boost-gauge
- New leather headlining etc
- Mounted Crane TRC timing retard and Halmeter AF30 AFM. (Se the picture)
- Sparco pedals
- MSA embroidered floormats

Soundsystem:
- Sony headunit
- Magnat Bull 360W amp in the hatch
- Tweeters on top of the dash
- JB three-way speakers behind the front seats
- Free-air 12 inch subwoofer in the hatch

Drivetrain:
- Borg Warner T5 transmission with shortshifter
- 3.7 R200
- Modified driveshaft

Suspension:
- Urethane bushings ALL OVER
- Koni adjustable shocks
- MSA performance springs (Chose these over tokico because they lowered the car an additional half inch)
- New spindlepins
- Sway Bar Adjustable End Links
- MSA steel solid front differential mount

Brakes:
- Earls steel braided brakelines

Turbo:
- Turbo XS RFL dumpvalve
- Turbo XS High Performance Boost Controller
- Thermo-Tec turbo heatblanket and headerwrap

Engine:
- Thermostatic oil-valve for the oilcooler
- Tornado electric fan kit
- King Dragon cold air induction
- Eurodamper

Ignition:
- Crane Cams Hi-6TRC CD ignition with TRC2 boost proportional ignition retard and crane map-sensor
- Crane Cams LX-92 racing coil
- Taylor Hi-Pro 8mm sparkplug wires
- Battery relocated to the hatch in a Moroso sealed battery box.
- 1 gauge Summit battery cables and extra ground-cable

Others:
- Halmeter AF30 airfuelmeter
- G-Tech Pro Performance Meter

The car runs on 98 octane unleaded, has a compression of 8.2:1 and the boost pressure is set to 14 psi. With my current mods, I'm hoping to go beyond 300Hp at the wheels. Before I started upgrading the car it produced 250RWHp.

Hope you like my car! I've invested much money, and much much more time in this project. All of my student funds are consumed in this project. :-)

Yours sincerely
Paul Espen Johannessen aka 260Z_Norway
