Truthie2's 1993 Chevrolet Lumina

This is the new beast, the way I bought her.So far since this picture I have done the following to her:

Truthie2's 1993 Chevrolet Lumina

-Chevrolet Logo bench seat cover (am going to modify soon to make more sporty by making form fitting and pulling the armrest back through and covering in black)

Truthie2's 1993 Chevrolet LuminaTruthie2's 1993 Chevrolet Lumina
-steering wheel cover (silver and black)
-grey console (have no clue how to get it to stay in the middle of the floor. i bought L-brackets but a friend says they won't work because of where my interior warmer is.)

-replaced stock deck with my old clarion deck
-brand spankin' new sony xplode speakers (noticed delco 4x6 were 75 cents each at a local car store, lol)

Truthie2's 1993 Chevrolet Lumina

-new chrome hubcaps(they shine like a mother right now, i hope i can keep them that way, but doubtful)

btw- took my car for a little drive... speedometer only goes to 140km, needle goes to about 150km... released gas pedal sometime after speedometer topped out, at least 100m/h by my guestimate... no hesitation at all. i'm curious to know how fast i can go with the stock engine? if anyone knows please post! thx

Part IIi Your lug pattern is 5/115 but 5/114.3 also fit your car but may cause light vibrations at high speeds. The rims you show at the link are stock wheels for the Euro and Z34 model. Try getting it off that Z34 in the junk yard or just keep your eye out for a set on other Luminas. K4banger is a nut. I read the stuff she posted and my head started to spin. Your not trying hard enough if you cant find LEDs for your interior. There everywhere. Try this. Try mounting them in your air vents so the light shines through the vent openings where the air is delivered through your dash panels. Tell your friend that I said he doesnt know what hes talking about. Ok, thats all I have to say for now. I hope, wait, no, I know this will help you. Shit at least this makes sense. Part Ii As for your spoiler, match it to your existing paint. Fill a bucket quarter way with tap water, luke warm. Pour in about two table spoons of dish soap into the water and mix. Now with some Wet-or-Dry 3M 400 sandpaper dipped into the water, sand your spoiler completely. Make sure the spoiler and paper are always wet. You have to wet sand it to get better results. At first its strange but then youll notice the difference between dry and wet sanding. Air dry for twenty minutes. Once the spoiler is evenly sanded and dry get three sheets of paper towel and pour a generous amount of thinner on it and wipe down the spoiler removing any grease, oils or water from it. Now it is ready for paint. Paint the spoiler with light & even coats with about 4 minutes of drying time between each coat. Keep laying coats till spoiler is completely painted. You can choose to clear coat it but if it looks good without it I say avoid clear coating it completely. bOuLeVaRd

Part I What are these people on here telling you. These are not good ideas. There actually the worst Ive heard. I read your page and with out clicking to go back Im going to give you the best pointers I can. First off for you console. which I suggest to get rid of all together, you can screw it down in that space that you have pictured. Yes the air duct is in the way but its not priceless nor will two or three screws through it do any harm to your car. Get a drill a 1/8" or so bit and with the drill in reverse drill the bit into the carpet this reduces the chances of the carpet getting knotted up in the drill bit when drilling forward. Drill the bit forward through the carpet and the air duct. The duct is nothing but a piece of plastic with a inside opening about 4"x 1-1/2". Keep the drill steady and then drill it into the metal floor board. Once done mount the bracket using those pre-drilled holes for you screws to secure in place. No big deal. bOuLeVaRd

Hey, I Can't get the picture to show of those rims but, I can see them out my window. My neibor got a Euro-sport for their spoiled 15 Y.O. girl. Must be nice huh? Anyway I wasn't sure on that bolt pattern cause my "Lum" is a 2001 (the final year them made them) Differnt body styles tend to have small changes like rim and pattern sizes. As for "leds" well I've never realy played with them much but, most of the truckers got them as taillights and they are really bright and easy to see. The city has even started replacing the stoplights on the poles with "LEDS" easier to see even with the sun shining on them. Have you thought about the "gel Caps" they make for dash lights? they come in a lot of colors, I've heard that you can't use them for too long but, a few weeks should tell you if colored "Leds" are worth the time and money. I think Autozone sells them. If mounting that consule really is something you have to do I have an old trick that'll work. Simpally bolt or screw a flat "one by" board to the consule so the board will go under the seat, if you measure it first you should find something to keep it flat and stable. O and thanks for that link to Chevypartx, i stumbled across it a while back but, couldn't find it after I got a new computer. O'well I've got to swap motors in a '85 Monte Carlo SS in the mourning so I talk at ya later.
