bauerny's 1990 Toyota Cressida This is my 1990 toyota cressida 7MGE engine with 39300 miles. I bought this car with some tranny and computer problems. Transmission rebuilt like new with new sonoids and I got a new stock computer. Car now has tints, rainguards, and autopager alarm. Update: 3/2005: Engine burning oil. This shouldn't happen in these cars. I don't know if I should sell it or fix it at this point.

Never heard of tranny and computer problems on any Cressida, especially one with only 39k miles. I think the reason my Cressida runs so well is the fact that I use "Lucas Oil Stabalizer" in my engine, my dad has used it for years. It now has 180k miles. Try using half a container of Lucas Oil, just pour it in, or switch to synthetic-high mileage or 10W 40 grade oil. These 7MGE engines need a LOT of lubrication and run very hot. Something like Slick 50 or Lucas will greately improve your engine performance. The only thing that has ever broken is a tail light bulb that recently burned out on my Cressida, triggering the warning light on the dash. It was the original light bulb!! Stick with your Cressida and definitely take my advice, you can still get another 140k miles out of it!!

Not sure what kind of turbo is in the Cressida. I don't know much about the history of the car since my dad was always using it for business trips. Possibly a Supra turbo since it's the same engine? I can't wait to see your Cressida. Put it up soon and let me know!!
