The broken knock sensor belong to my 3000GT almost 2 or 3 years. During these pervious years, Focus to the knock sensor case, I don't know why after change the spark plug from autoshop & they drive the car back to me, I just play a simple check on the engine bay, I found near Y-pipe have a broken little cable locate here, I ask autoshop what is this broken little cable at once? But I got the answer is..."this is no use, if this is critical, your 3000GT cannot drive & move, right?" at that time I just have not enough car repair knowledge & I assume they're right. The following days, I felt her hesitate in normal cruise. So, change the engine oil, but no effect.
Afterthat, I found this is knock sensor cable and I have a broken knock sensor. I need to order a new knock sensor, wow..... it's ~USD95. I will schedule to replace it!! :p and temporary fixed it. he he...!
and the knock sensor is a little microphone, coverd by half-soft plastics on the top, used to hear the vibration of cylinder block. if you wanna test ECU(harness) side connector like this.
if 1G :-
1) disconnect Battery +/-ve poles
2) disconnect ECU harness
3) ECU pin58 ground to the car, use Volt/Ohm meter ground the knock harness side connector Pin1, should be connection here
4) withdraw pin58 grounding, only use VOM ground the knock harness side connector Pin2, should be connection here
if 3 or 4 connection not steady or no connection, should be your harness problem.
if 2G :-
just instead of ECU pin78
The brandnew knock sensor & broken cable
The knock sensor # E1T15571 & the broken sensor locate under the down plenumn

Just attached to the rear spark plug cable and four engine cables(TPS, Oil pressure, Rear bank, Knock sensor). If you start the engine, you'll feel your engine heart bit here(little bit vibration) I knew this is not exactly engine knocking sound frequency here, but also approximate to. Use datalogger to monitor if some violent or normal vibration also detected here. I just fixed tight all cables and the sensor plastic head need to attach to the cables tightly but not too tight.

Now my continuous knock number 7~9 is gone! Get the normal knock number. Good luck!
