Right after graduation my family got me an '82 Trans Am from a guy that my dad worked with. He and his family were moving to either North or South Carolina. The Trans Am didn't meet the standards for the emissions laws because some of the emission components were left out when they swapped in a different engine. It's in pretty good shape considering the fact that the previous owners would rip out a part that went bad rather than replace it. The t-top leaks so the interior was moldy and mildewed and the floor panels under the carpet are possibly rusty. The owner raced at a track in Macomb, IL, so he mainly made sure that the car could still burn rubber and didn't spend much time on anything else. My dad talked him down to $1500 and he agreed. Ever since then my dad and I have been in the process of restoring her.
