I volunteered my Son and I to assist in the removal. Then I called my wife to come over and carry it back to our house. I began removing the interior that night. For the biggest part, the install was the same as the '99.The package shelf and the tank cover needed to be trimed in both rear corners to allow the bar to slide into final seating position. I did not need to take as much as show. I removed about a 2" x 3" triangle from each corner. It was almost in line with the downword indention you see in the pics.Package Shelf ViewsSince the donor car did not have ABS, I had to relocate the ABS wire through the body, as well as re-position the carbon canister check valve. They were in the position of underside rear mounting plate for the bar.Start to Finish was about six hours considering this was my first rollbar install and I was measuring 10 times and being very careful with all the wiring and re-routing. Jacking the car up on stands was really a leg saver. My buddy says ALWAYS put the car on stands. Now I know why. Made it much easier to work on.January 2005 Update:Trying to get the car track ready for High Speed Driving School, I find the HardDog does not mee t SCCA rules for SOLO. Each shoulder belt must have a separate attachment point.BTW, the single sub belt used to wrap around the front of the stock seat is also not legal. The solution is to use the dual mounted sub belt that passes between the seat back and the seat bottom, for the driver to sit on and then connect to the 5 or 6 point harness. The first HardDog eyebolt connection is the one on the lower right of the picture just sticking through the carpeting. It fits ok when you depress the carpet to attach the belt. The second eyebolt is the one we added above and to the front of the first.
