I bought this Cougar in July of 2004.  Now it is almost completely restored.

Engine:

390 FE Bored .030 over
Edelbrock Aluminum Heads
Edlebrock Aluminum Intake
Edelbrock Victor Water Pump
Comp Cams Magnum 270H
Holley 700 DP Carb
MSD 6AL
Oil Cooler

Transmission:

Tremec TKO 500

CenterForce Clutch and Hydraulic Clutch

Lakewood Scattershield

Rear End:

Ford 9" with 4.11 Trac-loc

Suspension:

Rear - Stock Leaf Springs w/o isolator pads

Front - Shelby Control Arm Drop w/ Scott Drake Concours Springs

The Interior is mostly done by myself, including door panels and wood grain dash. I also upgraded to all autometer stock looking guages. I have the cobra tach and speedo. The speedometer is reverse rotation.
The seats are Scat Rally Seats.

I love first gen cougars. Nice choice with the 390 and 5 speed. Thats about exactly how I'd do it. Love the color too. Five Stars from me, no question.
