Ever since the 80ies show Knight Rider a 3rd gen. black Trans Am has been my dream car. Now, 20 years later I have one.
It's a 1989 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am GTA, with a 5.7 liter TPI power plant (L98). It has T-tops and tan leather interior. More of its specs and the RPO-code list can be found from my site at http://www.shadowcast.tk

Right now it's pretty much stock and I don't have any plans in immediate future to tune it up, I focus on getting it up and running nice, which it has done so far...

The main problems I have with it are the loose steering and loose frame, it rattles and protests when I drive it over the tram tracks, bumpy roads (gravel/dirt) or pavement edges, but this is not unheard of, 3rd gen Firebird has a loose frame.
For that I have Sub Frame Connectors waiting to be welded in the chassis. That should reduce the rattle and protest, though I dare not to hope that it all would end but I hope it would... ;)

I also love the look of a '84 Trans Am. For it, I have acquired a nosepiece from an '84 Trans Am and I intend to get a cowl induction hood also. But my priority is now the steering.
The steering angle is not set right, and I will change my current 265/50R15 front tires with 245s, since those wider tires won't turn all the way (it scrubs the fender when turning as far as the wheel goes). And the 245s won't go into tracks on the road as much, I hope.
