1967 Ford Fairlane 500XL
Here is the heart of my Fairlane, the 289 "Challenger" V8 rated at 200Hp. In the fall of '04 I tore down the engine to give it a good cleaning and inspection. Also everything in the engine compartment was cleaned and recieved a fresh coat of paint.
The interior of my Fairlane was in pretty good shape when I got it, though it did need some attention. The chrome was worn off the instrument panel and quite abit of the front seat upholstery had been replaced and didn't match very well.
This is what the dash looks like now. I've added some extra guages and a CD player under the dash. The original AM radio still works but I got tired of it pretty quickly. The dash pad was already in excellent condition, but the steering wheel had a few cracks and the dash had some scratches. For now I painted the instrument panel with chrome paint, and it turned out pretty good. The cracks were filled in the steering wheel and it and the dash were repainted with Ford Wild Strawberry laquer. I even got the clock working again.

This is how the interior looked before I re-upholstered the seats. It looks ok in the pics but it looks much better now. The dryer sheets on the floor are used to keep the mice out and they smell alot better than moth balls.
