1955 Willys M38A1, same as a CJ5 with a different tailgate and dual petrol tanks under the seats.

Engine: small block 383
block: built small block chevy 350
bored 0.030 and stroked to 3.75
making it 383ci (6.2L)
heads: Chevy 492 camel hump with
2.02/1.60 valves
cam: solid lifter high lift
rocker arms: full roller 1.52:1 rockers
Intake: edlebrock torker intake
holley 500cfm 2bbl.
ignition: MSD 6AL ignition
Mallory billet distributor
exaust: equal length 1 5/8 header with
2.5 collector through dual
magnaflow mufflers.
power: 375HP/390lbs with 500cfm, needs
about 780
Previous owner claims it has
about 435 with a better carb but
I wanted a better idle and
longer band.
Muncie M21 4 speed transmission into a Dana model 18 transfercase with saturn 25% overdrive. Full roll cage, sitting on 33in tires with 5.38:1 rearend housed in a Dana 44 offset differential.

gets the worst milage possible but it can squeel all 4 tires on the street! I havn't had a witness to see if the front left wheel is off the ground.

I recently snapped a tie rod on a short track. it runs great in the mud, all 4 tires spitting out mud.

hey thanks for hit'n me back, yeh Im prety shure I would have a tone of room in there, it has a 1" body lift to, so hood clearence would'nt be a prob, I have prety much scrapped the idea of an engine swap though, I dont have alot of cash, and I can build up my 4.2 for prety cheep, I can still get my hands on a 302 if I want, I might buy it to, and sit on the idea of swaping it in, hehe I have all sorts of plans for it just floating around, if I come to a disision to swap it in ill definitly let yu no though, thanks, peace!
