Due to some recent transmission problems, I found that the car had a crack in the block... So... I bought a complete B16a swap from a 92-95 SiR-II. I should have the motor in sometime next week and the car will be much quicker than the stock ex D16y8 motor. I'll post pics of the swap as soon as possible.
This is my 1997 Honda civic ex.
I plan on keeping the car looking stock with a turbo kit and more engine modifications to come.
The only exterior modifications that I have made to the car are the tail lights, new wheels, honda emblems, and the muffler.
There is a carbon fiber gauge cluster and new shift boot and shift knob and some painting of parts, but as far as interior modifications go, that's about it.
Since the new motor was swapped in, I have added a Gsport distributor cap and rotor, as well as a Gsport high output ignition coil. Spark plugs were changed to NGK lazer iridiums for a better spark, and the wires will soon be upgraded to MSD.
The stock exhaust had to go, so I decided to go with a custom 2 1/4 setup from the headers back. The old fuel pump had to go as well b/c the stock one was running too lean at times, so it was replaced with a walbro 255, which should be perfect for that turbo kit down the road. To tune the fuel back down to a reasonable level after the pump, a fuel pressure regulator was installed. The intake has been re-done to bring in cooler air and the timing has been advanced to give it that extra boost for now.
Soon to come...
-act 6 puck springless clutch (already have it, just not in yet)
-lightweight flywheel (why the clutch isn't in yet, need money)
-new intake manifold
-aem fuel rail
-vtec controller and/or new ecu
-new cams and pistons
-turbo
-new wheels (or paint the ones i have, i just got new tires)
