This is my 91 turbo I just bought 9/1/2004.105000 original miles. Needs some TLC, and I got a lot to give it.
Been playing with the 2. The timing belt was slapping the cover, so changed it and the seals. Still acted kinda sluggish, pulled the plug wires and found the problem. Oil in the plug journals. So I installed new plugs, valve cover gasket and cleaned up the old wires until my new ones come in. Ran pretty good, but not good enough. I went and played with the timing. That's all she needed, first run after all the tuning and the clutch lasted until 3rd gear. The turbo spools and comes on like a blunt kick in the ass. So far I'm having fun with it. Got lots planned for it. I'll have some pics up soon.
Well here is what I have done so far. Polished out the valve cover, turbo plumbing, painted the front timing cover & some intake plumbing. Installed a TRD filter, NGK wire set, Iridium plugs and GM knock sensor(mine gave out).
Here is my new exhaust, Flowmaster muffler, welded flanges to muffler and pipe to make it easy to remove without cutting. Used factory hanger locations, and 3" pipe. Done it myself at my shop.
Also got a Greddy Profec a boost controller, Fidanza flywheel, Blitz BOV and Stage 3 six puck clutch. Now I just need to install it all. I'll get picks up later.
I got the boost controller, flywheel and clutch installed. WHOA!! it was awesome. Unbelievable power. Then major engine failure. #3 cylinder gave out big time.
It's now a year later and I got the 2 back on the road. Installed a JDM engine, header and downpipe. Also put some 18" Mille Miglia 1000 Spyder's. I have a 98 rear wing (haven't installed yet). Took to the track and ran 13.8 on stock boost. I have one more thing to do and then I will up the boost and it should run in the 12's.

Sold the Spyders, and went thru 3 other sets of wheels and now I have Gewalt Evolution 17x7's up front 18x8.5 on the rears. I think it looks TIGHT!!! Next is a fresh pretty blue paint job with a little touch of candy.

Well still haven't got the paint done, I installed the 98 wing for about 2 month's and went back to stock wing. Blew the JDM engine within 6000 miles of installing it. Tore the engine down in Feb. and rebuilt it myself. So far no problems, I have be racing it this year in the SCCA CENLA region. Did ok, I had to upgrade to AVON R comps, and just installed KYB AGX's all the way around and adjustable front swap bar links. I had the seats redone while I was waiting to rebuild the engine, so now other than the paint the car almost is completely restored. I also now have a 93 turbo completely stock and all original, I'm going to daily drive it and use the blue car solely as a track car. I will get so new pics up soon.
