Most G Class Freaks will probably be able to tell that this is a Pre 1992 G Class by the location of the gas tank cap. About two dozen body parts were upgraded to create a 2004 look. Attention was paid to maintain the factory appearance and original lines of the vehicle. All the lights are original, but the tire cover, some ensignea and mirror lenses were improvised in the Philippines. The rear red and white fog lights were also found here too. As you may know the Philippines is the home of the Jeepney (a extended wrangler jeep decorated to look like a carnival ride used as public transportation). Because of this fact, there was an abundance of light options to choose from. Walking down Banaue, the car accessory road of the Philippines, I brought a tracing of the hole and found one.

Image of fog lights. The fog light frames are black like in the new AMG G55. The lower bull bars are my next project if I can find a proper photo and figure out how the part is constructed and installed I may give it a go.
I am sure you are thinking this car needs 18" minimum. Unfortunately, with a gross weight of 4,500kg due the ballistic armor and the heavy classy, I thought I would keep the 15"s. Each wheel is fitted with a $1,000 run flat donut insert to get you to safety in the event of tire blowout during an ambush. In my case, it came handy when a friend parked it illegally over night and got a Philippine parking ticket. Which is defined as, an unknown security guard sticking a match end into the inflation value rendering your tire flat. Not to worry, I drove to the gas station and changed tires without incident.

The vehicle is rated as a Level 3 ballistic armored able to withstand shots from a 9mm, 45cal, 357 and other short arms fire. I believe the Pope, the Canadian Military stationed in Iraq and Boris Yeltsin has one as back up. Apparently the Armored G Class is the "weapon of Choice" of the Japanese Yakuza and Russian Mafia.
Ballistic Armor Alone cost $80,000.Im quite proud of its providence. I will not name drop but the registration it shows its was owned by the most successful shopping mall operator in the Philippines. He has upgraded his ride to a S600 Guard. In English, what this means is he is rolling around in a factory armored Mercedes-Benz sedan equal in price to the sum total of annual income of 300 average Filipinos.
Some very cool images I found on the net when searching for armored G Wagons.
