At this point I was ready to do some upgrading.

First thing I did was install a bypass valve. I used a special Samco hose from TAP and a Bosch 710N valve. My friend's dad welded up a fitting on the stock intake pipe and I was good to go.

I've tried a couple different BPV's since and have settled on a Forge BPV. No complaints.

Next upgrade was to get rid of the blown Boge Turbo Gas shocks. I found a good deal on some new Bilstein Sports and put those in with the urS6 Eibachs. Perfect setup for the street IMHO.

I had been searching for a different intercooler setup for awhile. I wasn't gonna settle for the inept stock dual pass IC.

I found this intercooler listed on Audifans.com

It is a 1B/2B factory single pass intercooler that Audi used on some of it's later 10 valve turbo cars. It is very similar to the 3B single pass IC found on the 91 200 20vt.

However the 1B/2B is a direct bolt on affair compared to mounting the 3B IC. The only thing that needs to be modified to make the 1B/2B IC fit is some trimming of the front cross support.

Here is a pic of the IC mounted:

Here's a comparison pic of the stock IC and 1B/2B IC. The 1B/2B is about 2 inches longer.

For my current power levels I'm very happy with this setup. Throttle response is greatly improved.

I will probably keep this setup until I go to a EFI setup and turn up the boost.
