this is was my christmas present right after i turned 16. it was the best present ever, even if it did have chalky paint, 180,000 miles on the odometer, and bald 35's.
the first mods were a 4inch susp, and some 38 tsl radials... a little custom diamond plating also...
i got into a clean look, and took the rear bumper off, took the comper off, and put downey torsion bars, with 5in superlift springs in rear, and 3inch blocks...also got some
39x15 tsl's on 15x12 modulars
before..... after 1 year
this is my truck at the beginning of this summer before senior week at the beach, where my ex-girlfriend wrecked my truck. it wasn't bad, it just gave me a reason to go ahead and paint it, and out a straight axle under it.
it had a 4 inch susp, and 3 inch body, also torsion bars, and shackles in the rear. it had 39x15 tsl's on 15x12 modulars... the light rack i made out of 2x2 steel channel.
this summer i turned 18, and i decided that i had enought experience to do the straight axle swap with my best friend josh abernathy
this is right after we took the plasma to the ifs, and mounted the front shackle mounts. we are pullin the trans and t-case to pull the motor
little beast motor
this is the new 22r i put in it. i stayed with the 22r, because that damn motor is tougher than nails, and is really pretty stout with a few mods. the main mods were porting and polishing the head, and putting the l.c engineeerin stage II cam, and springs, with the downey header
this is when we pulled out of the shop, with the straight axle under it, and the new motor.
testin my flex with the new sas!!
doin some body work to the bed
after layin some color on the bed, waitin on gettin in pinstripe'd then a few more coats of house of kolor hpc-100 clear
gettin the cab put back together
i also got a smittybuilt front bumper, and painted it orion house of kolor silver to match the truck, also did the same thing with the light bar
pics when i rolled it out of the paint shop
so now a big before and after...
