This is my 80 ford fairmont.

squicksilver's 1980 Ford Fairmont

I know it aint much to look at now but i have only spent $175 to buy it. It runs well. The brakes are touchy and it doesnt have a muffler so that'll need to be fixed. but i need help to get some ideas on how to paint it and to get it running faster then 85 mph. I will get a bigger engin then the line 6 i got in it now. Im kind of a newbe in fixing cars but i will always like all american muscle. give me some hints on what i should make it look like. i've got room for basically anything that i want in it. the only problem is the money but soon i should get my shop up and running.

HI there you should check out our fairmont. I was reading comments in your guest book. The inline 6 came with a C3 tranny and is rated at 94 hp. Our Fairmont is presently going through motor swap to '86 5 litre but we are going carb on it. Good luck with yours!!

hey, well i would start with like a 351windsor crate motor or somthing. then put a C4 auto in it. I would then put and 8.8in or 9in rearend in it.

my dad has a fairmont 4 door and their reliable cars,if u wanna stick a v8 in it id find a small 265 out of a fairmont or futura,u could put a 302 in but the mounts may not line up and youll have to do some welding, have fun.

With the inline 6, I don't think it will go faster than 85. My 2.3 'Mont has a top speed of 70-75 mph, depending on which way the wind is blowing :~) Let me know if you want some swap tips.
