Rear Power and Backup Lights mods For other mods, I needed some significant power at the rear of the car. I decided to run a power cable to the rear and created a power distribution area. I finally found a good location... just inside the left rear locked storage area (ignore all my junk). I needed fused power for: high-power backup lights, rear subwoofer amp, rear power outlet, and growth for furture mods. I found a fuse block at a local auto parts store and mounted it from behind for a flush fit. I then installed two cigarette lighter jacks.Being cheap... I mean frugal, I found an old pair of cheap jumper cables that I was going to throw away and used that for the cable to bring the power to the back. I got a single automobile high current in-line fuse holder from Rat Shack (the cheapest price) and mounted it in the engine bay. I covered it with split loom covering for a stock look. Since the windows are tinted, it can be a little challenging to see when backing up (another lame excuse for totalling out the rear view mirror). I had seen kits to put extra backup lights on the trailer hitch but didn't want to drop the $$$ that they were asking. I found some low-profile driving lights at a yard sale for a few bucks, got a relay from Rat Shack, and used some miscellaneous crimp connectors, double sided tape, wire, and zip ties. (I basically replicated the aftermarket kit for about half the price.) Here's a shot of the left side.
