Tight_Shadow’s 1991 Dodge Shadow

Well cant forget about my trusty daily /winter driver.It is a 1988 dodge omni.It has a fuel injected 2.2litre with a 5 speed tranny.Of course i had to mod this one to.mods were.. 2.25" exhaust complete Thrush oval 2" Cherry Bomb high flow muffler K&N panel filter modded air box 1" spacer between TB and intake timing advanced to 14* 195/50R15 wheels The next pic shows how well the omni took to the mods.All though it wont set no 1/4 mile records,it works very good for a N/A 2.2.I surprise alot of people with it.It is a fun little car for sure.

I am always kind of looking around when i go for drives for cool places to take shots of mine and my friends rides to.We had come acrossed this great place here by the water (plus there are hot chicks there to...did i type that out loud!!LOL. Anyways these were taken on june 11th 2005,hope you like em.

Moncton had gotten Sport Compact Nights to come to our City,and there was a load of entries,Over 2000 ,They had to choose from that list and i was chosen as one of the entires they wanted ,I was pretty proud of the Shadow that time.They said they were looking for somthing different to show with the others.I was just happy to be in it.Here is some pictures from the show ,August 2005 ,before other upgrades. Well here is the latest pics of my omni.It has been a good car all along so i decide to take it from winter beater status to full daily solid driver,with no rust.I had wanted to have a solid "as close to new as i could get" car to fall back on in case the Shadow broke or for long trips here and there,the "Omlet" is alot more docile on the highway,revving at 3000rpm in fifth at 130kph verses the Shadow with its high stall convertor turning at 4000rpm at the same speed.The first pics of the omni is when i had got it from a friend of mine ,he had babied this car from day one when he got it.I was amazed with the shape of it when i had seen it at his place and he was totaling stripping the interior out to rust proof every thing.I had noticed to that he was planning on cloning it to a GLH omni.He had all the stuff to do it minus the 15" rims and tires.Me a big fan of the GLH and GLHS knew the chances of me getting the real version of ither car was slim indeed .So i bugged him for a year till he gave in and sold it to me.This first picture is a few months after i got it from him,need some paint but other than that it was solid.

Have you ever wanted somthing that stood out ? A ride that made people look twice ? Yea me to ,and this is what i decided on ,a 1991 Dodge Shadow ES,yea I agree a strange choice ,but nothing makes people look more then when you drive by in a tricked shadow ,they snicker and laugh ... till they hear it take off ,see the tires fry ,all hell loudly breaks loose and the blow off valve echos through the streets ,then it calms down and calmly cruises away. Usaully i see them in the rear view standing there and scratching their heads trying to figure out "what in the hell was that?" Shadows dont do that!!. Drove the car for a while as i spent on the Shadow ,saving a little here and there to get the Omni up to the image i had in mind.Lo and behold i had saved enough to get the Omni painted and redone to alomost new.She had gotten some rust on her from the two winters i had drove it but nothing really bad.My buddy Mark is a A1 body man and agreed to get the Omni back to new again for a a fair price.here is the pictures from his shop of it getting redone

Present date October 2009,i have sold the Omni as of March 2009.I had two cars to maintain and as the shadow was the toy i needed to get a daily driver that need no  " keeping it going " attention .The Omni was a amazing car and had never let me down at all.With it being 20 years old though it was time to get some thing out of it before it was worth nothing.So i had been lucky to be able to decide that i could go with a new car as long as it never went above my set monthly payment plan.I shopped a good bit and decided on a 2008 Saturn Astra.These cars are made in Germany and it shows inside and out.Have a look on the net and read up as these cars get great reviews.That helped me decide on this car.Below are the Omni pics of it before it went to a new owner and then some pics of the new ride ,my Saturn Astra XR 3 door 2008 5 spd.
