Past Cars/ Friends Rides
Here are some pictures of my first car, a 1986 Chevy Chevette. I bought it brand new off the lot in 1986. A lot was done to it and I had a lot of fun in it but in 1995, it was retired. Details to follow on the Chevette. More cars to come later.

Engine- 1.6 litre 4 cylinder overhead cam gas powered
Transmission- 5 speed manual
1986 Chevette changes
Engine
- A header replaced the stock exhaust manifold.
- A small tube was placed on to the header to replace missing carburetor heater that the stock exhaust had. I found out the hard way about the need for this when the car was used in the middle of winter.
- A custom bent 2" exhaust with a Thrust Turbo muffler replaced stock exhaust. One small note. When this custom needed replacement, It cost less then putting on a pre-made stock exhaust. Also, the catalytic converter was removed when the 2"exhaust when on. This was long before E-testing came into being.
Suspension/ Wheels
- A set of 13 by 5.5 inch custom steel rims replaced the stock 13 by 5 inch wheels.
- A set of P195/ 60 SR13 B.F Goodrich tires replaced the stock P175/ 80 R13 tires.
- A set of KYB gas shocks replaced stock factory shocks.
Audio
- Since the car was the base Scooter model, no radio came in it. A Blaupunkt AM/FM/Cassette Tape player (model number forgotten) and a 40 watt E.Q./ power booster unit.
- A set of Pionner Tune-up speakers with built-in volume controls built-in.
- A set of 6 by 9 inch rear speakers placed into custom built rear speakers boxes/ rear cargo bins that where fitted on to the side cargo area to allow the car to still carry cargo.
Interior Changes
- A Grant Ferrari style steering wheel replaced larger factory steering wheel.
Exterior Changes
- An aftermarket sunroof.
- A car bra. After using one of these on this car, I would not buy another one again.
