This is my journal I update about my progress with my baby.

10/31/01 1 hour.
We Transferred the title and towed the car home today.
11/5/01 3 hours.
Today I did some minor engine work. I replaced the spark plugs, plug wires, pcv, air filter, and cleaned the engine compartment.
11/7/01 2 hours.
I cleaned the interior and changed the brake lights.
11/12/01 2 hours.
Final cleaning before I put her away for the winter. Cleaned the interior and the exterior.
5/10/02 4 hours.
My dad and I took a trip to the scrap yard by my house today and bought a deck lid from an 81 Camaro. Soon will be stopping back for the e-brake cable from the same car.
5/17/02 8 1/2 hours.
Removed the entire interior today: front seats, center console, rear seats, all trim around front windshield sides and rear windshield, and carpet. I also removed the passenger side door, to prep for primering. I finally saw where my floor pan is rusted through. I took my old deck lid and cut out a piece 2' x 2' Then cut it to fit exactly and used caulk to hold it down. I also began sanding my new deck lid for next weekend to primer it.
5/25/02 10 hours.
Today I removed the driver's door. I removed the windows from both driver and passenger door to prep for primering. I removed the rear windshield as well as the speakers. I primerd my new deck lid, the interior of the trunk, cock pit, and doors, as well as the door jams. Tomorrow I begin with body work, fixing a dry-rot hole in the right rear quarter panel.
5/26/02 10 hours.
Today I got some more work done. First I removed the front nose piece from the car, then removed the bumper and fender. I then jacked up the car and put it on stands and removed all four tires. I then sanded out most of the deep kinks in the body. I filled in the large holes like the one in my quarter panel, and front right fender. I took more pictures of the items removed and the body afterwards. Hope to have them posted soon.
5/27/02 7 hours.
Today I was able to finish cleaning the hinges and I got them primered. I did some more body work, sanding down the hole in the quarter panel, and the front fender. All I have to do now is wet sand the entire body and primer it. I was able to primer the nose and bumper.
6/01/02 6 hours.
Today I sanded the spoiler, primered it and put it on the deck lid and attached the deck lid to the hinges. I was able to primer the hood. Primered and painted on the finish coat, onto the bumper. I also put the driver side and passenger side door glass back in.
6/24/02 3 hours.
I bought a T/A as a parts car a few weeks ago, its a 1980 Turbo T/A (gold). Yesterday I was able to attach the nose from the 80 since my nose from the 79 is cracked. I also adjusted the rear deck lid since before I only had bolted it on. I also attacked the side spoiler that attaches to the rear quarters. I put the rear windshield in as well as reattached the turn signal housing lamps from the 80 to the 79. Pictures will be up soon of the things I did.
11/9/02 11 hours.
I took the fenders and hood off of my 80 Turbo T/A and put them on the 79. While the fenders and wheel wells were off I was able to replace the last thing holding my car back from inspection, the body mounts (or lack there of). I finnaly got my new Energy Suspension mounts on and put on my wheel wells and new fenders.
11/10/02 10 hours.
I sanded the entire car today three times then began to primer it. I put three coats of black primer on the entire car as well as in the trunk. I will hopefully soon put back in my driver and passanger window and then interior and get it inspected.
11/24/02 6 hours.
I finished replacing the driver and passanger window. I then installed all my new interior, accept for whats on back order. I got it inspected and it is now ready to present.
6/10/03 2 hours.
It's been a long time since I was able to work on my car but I began to cut off my exhaust to prepare for a engine swap hopefully in the next couple of months. The T/A sounds really loud with it straight headers. I think I might have woke up some of my neighbors when I started it since it WAS 12pm. Oops.
7/06/03 6 hours.
Well, my dad and I got some work done on the car today. We were able to pull the posi-rear out of my 80 Turbo T/A along with the gear box and tilt coloumn. Hopefully soon I will be able to start cleaning and working on my rear.
7/13/03 3 hours.
I began cleaning the rear tonight, I was able after about 3 hrs get part of the dirt and rust back down to bare metal. I got a little bit of a distrubance when a friend called, but I got some good work done in a good amount of time hopefully Tuesday after school I will get more of the rear cleaned. I hope to have a before pic of the axle up soon, and possibly in about a week have a pic of it all clean and painted.
5/29/04
Soon I will begin building an engine with a lot of power. Few of you know what it is and I'm gonna keep it that way. Stay watching for updates of the Secret Engine Build.
8/26/04
I have decided to reverse what i've done and resto/mod it back to its original Redbird form. Of course with a little more oomph than the stock 140bhp.
8/30/04
I've been lookin at some engine components for my 301. I found a good cam kit from comp cams and some 1.65 rockers. :) I know the bore is 4" and stroke is 3"(I think the old 326 motor was same bore & stroke, does that mean i can use same bottom end?) If anyone knows this give me a shout in my guestbook. Thanx. I'm lookin for about 300bhp, I'm gonna throw a 2400 stall and 3.73s in the mix for some more pulling power. I am also thinkin of porting the heads and boring the motor.
8/31/04 2 Hours.
Tonight I took off the stock 2bbl and sprayed it (To Death!) with 3 13.25oz cans of Berryman Carb & Choke Cleaner. I sat it in a small tub and soaked it. I'm leaving it soak over night and I'm gonna check on it tommorow morning. It seems to clean it pretty good compared to how it was. The cleaner that sat in the bottom turned dark brown. I covered the top with paper towels so dirt wouldnt get into it.
9/01/04
I went out to my shed this morning to check out my carb. Lets just say wow... It looks A LOT cleaner than it did. Now its not all gummed up like it was before. I wonder how much better it would flow now.
9/02/04 1 Hour.
Today in preperation of the engine/tranny removal I took off the hood. I also unbolted the passanger side fender. Tommorow morning I'm going to take off the nose so I can get both fenders off. I will hopefully have some more pics of my progress.
9/03/04 2 Hours.
Today I took off both fenders and the nose. I'm also taking off stuff like the battery tray, coolant overflow bottle and washer bottle. I hope to have some pics up soon. I also got the inner fenderwells out. Depending on how much room I have left with everything removed I might not have to take the engine out to rebuild it.
9/08/04
I think I've convinced myself to ditch the 301 in place of a 400 Turbocharged to 10psi with a 100 shot of laughing gas... Hopefully like 400-450hp before juice. I'm not sure if I wanna go with a wet or dry system. If anyones got suggestions let me know. I'm thinkin wet. NOS has a kit for wet N20 called the Top Shot. Slips on the air cleaner stud on the carb... Hidden from prying eyes under the turbo bonnet. hahaha
9/11/04
Unfortunitly reality set in yesterday. I dont have the money in order to build a wicked turbo 400. Looks like I'll probably just mildly build a 301 with like 250hp. I figure with 250hp, 2400 stall, and 3.42 gears it will be pretty fun.
12/14/04 3 hours.
Today I broke apart my 301 turbo engine and tranny apart. Hopefully on my next day off I can put the engine on the stand.
10/7/05
Its been A WHILE since ive been able to update. The car is still in the same condition, but my ideas have changed and im beginning on the suspension soon.
03/19/06
Getting the 400 bare block delivered today. Cant wait to drop it off at the machine shop to have it cleaned up.
