RACING INFO & SPECS
Been a LONG ass time but I finally got some wheels for my ride. 2000 Cobra R's. Fathers day gift from the wife and kids. Front bumper has had it rough hitting apossums and such. Will get a new one sometime with a new paint job. But the biggest news happened back on May 4th 2008 at 5:00pm. A beautiful 20 1/2'' 8lb 5oz version of myself was brought into this world. His name is Braden Wayne Simmons. Most beautiful kid ever. Can't wait until he's old enough to help ol' dad work on the Stang. Let me know what ya think
UPDATED INFO
Last Thursday (May 4th 2006) I bought some 3.73 gears for my 8.8 rear end. Called Thomas up to see if he would give me a hand in puttin them in. He accepted so after i got off work Friday morning at 7am I went over his house to get started. The first problem we ran into was the c-clamps didn't want to come out of the rear end so we spent a while trying to figure out a way. We finally got them both out and decided to go ahead and put on one of the bearings on the pinion. This is where we encountered another problem. The rubber piece we used to knock the bearing on with got stuck on the pinion shaft and we couldn't pull it off. So we heated the ruber up with a torch and thankfully got it to slide off. Next we unhooked the driveshaft and took the gears out of the rear end. When we started puttin the pinion in we found another problem, the bearing wasn't letting the pinion go all the way in. After a little beating we got it to go. When we finally got the 3.73 gear installed it started leaking when we tested it . At first we thought it was the pinion seal but soon found out it was the crush sleeve. So after tearing up the original seal we wind up taking the gears out so we could get to the crush sleeve. But finally after a new seal and no crush sleeve we got the gears put in and running properly after 12 hours of work. But next time I will make sure I've had some sleep before I do it again. DONT FORGET TO RATE MY RIDE AND VOTE ON MY POLL AND CHECK OUT MY ARTWORK ON PAGE 7...thanks
