big_ride's 1996 Ford F-Series Pick-Up

Here's the pride and joy I've been cherishing ever since that wonderful January day back in 1996. It's undergone some extensive changes since then, and I hope that those changes can keep happening, hehe!!
What started life as a F-250, is now a custom F-350. Leaving the TTB Dana50 axle in the garage floor thanks to the help of a Dana 60; 35 spline solid front axle, it is able to ride on 8" of lift via a ORU front shackle reversal, Tuff Country's 2 1/2" front leveling system, and in the rear Skyjacker's 4" lift blocks welded to stock lift blocks, topped off w/ a 1" add-a-leaf, complimented by Performance Accessories 3" body lift that is neatly hidden by their "Lift Lips". Keeping the rearend from getting too bouncy is also a pair of BFG Velvet Ride two piece shackles.
Since the lift got to where it is now, longer brake lines were added thanks to Skyjacker's braided stainless steel ones, and longer shocks as well from Bilstien Corp.
Turning those 38.5x15-R16.5 Tsl Super Swamper Boggers, wrapped around Weld's SS IIs; are a set of Precision Gear 4.56 R&P along with a Detroit Locker out back.(All protected by polished aluminum covers). Since the rear is locked, axlehop became an issue, so to control that Fabritech's silver powdercoated traction bars were installed. AHHH MUCH better!!
With the suspension details out of the way, time for some transmission talk. E4OD, w/ a Banks Transcommand shift module on board, keeping everything clicking like it should be inside that churning bohemoth, adding more grunt to the transmission is a Transgo Stage 2 shift kit--- thanks my good buddy Pat down at "Baney's". Normal driving is fine, can't tell it's there, all out throttle smashing, it's a whole 'nother world!! lol.
Engine wise, the 351 is mostly all "bolt-ons", nothing internal (yet). Hypertech comp. chip, K&N FIPK, Airaid TBS, Jacobs Ignition, dual Optimas, custom built 225 amp alternator, (a set of FMS shorty headers in the works)..did run March "power pullies" for a while, but took them off.
Interior... stock minus the Pioneer in dash w/ remote, 12 disk changer, 10" JL Audio behind seat, MB Quartz in the doors, and 2 MTX Blue Thunder amps routing power to and fro, and keeping an eye on power loss is a 1Mf capacitor as well.
Exterior mods include Car Wear diamond cut headlight and parking lenses up front, Lightforce's Blitz 240 offroad lights, along withe Explorer Pro Comp 100 watts mounted just outside of those. All that, resting on a Exp. P/C prerunner bar. Haind painted grille, matching the dark green paint of the truck, stainless steel rocker panels, and cool custom ford flaming logo on the '97 tailgate. Rhino linings protects the bed as well, and thanks to Lund for the rear rollpan. Wondering how one is supposed to get into this thing? Thanks to Kodiak Sidewinder electric steps; that's no longer a problem.
I enjoy wrenching on this truck, trying to do as much of it myself as I can.. whisch is pretty much what you see here, with the help of some good buddies w/ airtools. ;)Overall the truck handles quite nicely, and even better whenever I swap out the tires for my "street tires" (35" BFG mud terrains, on another set of wheels). The truck is still driven as often as I can, and shown whenever possible too, like the annual 4 Wheel Jamborees held here where I live. What's even more fun to see is my awesome wife in it, whether driving, or riding... what a TREAT!!
On that note, some thank yous are due, thank you to my wife Johnna--- for letting me do this, and enjoying it with me. Thank you to Pat (mentioned above), thank you to Michael (tweaks here 'n' there), thank you to C.A.T.T. for the axle work. Anyone else... thank you too---- and if you happen to see this truck out and about, honk or shout, just don't get in front of me, (bad things could happen) hehe.
