******* BACKGROUND *******
This 1969 California native Karmann Ghia, originally from Union City, CA now resides in Lake Hopatcong, NJ, by way of Union, NJ, Saco Maine back to Union, NJ and now in Lake Hopatcong, NJ. Originally purchased from a junkyard in Concord, CA for $1,000.00 in 1996. With the masterful work of Louie Salgado known for his "Wild Cherry" chop top VW bug (featured in VW magazine) of San Lorenzo, CA, this former eye sore has been transformed to the BMW Z3 color scheme inspired car you see now.

******* EXTERIOR *******
Body work was all done at the residence of Louie's wonderful family where this project became a family project. The body was completely removed of all Bondo and patched and welded.

The color was of BMW origin of the early sports coupe Z3 of 1996 and sprayed in Fremont, CA. EMPI rims were restored from a different vehicle, sand blasted and painted.

******* INTERIOR *******
Again, a camel color was chosen to mimic the 1996 model of the BMW Z3 coupe. Door panels, "RAVE" racing seats, quarter panels and rear seat covers were purchased from Scat Enterprises.

A Short shift was also purchased from Scat Enterprises and installed which reduces the shift travel by 65%. Dashboard, center console and speaker kick panels were purchased from Glass Action

Aircraft/NOS switches were also installed with LED indicating lights for use on lighting system, cooling fans and stereo power.
Currently Non functioning NOS trigger buttons were also drilled into the steering wheel for future use on future devices.

******* ENGINE *******
The engine was completely removed, rebuilt and dressed up with chrome and painted parts. The DC Generator was removed and replaced with an Alternator. The oil tub airfilter was removed and replaced with a conventional airfilter.
