Hood Pin Install

I got a set of FMS Hood Pins to go with my Cervinis Cobra R Hood.

The first thing to do it to remove the old bumpstops. There it the top hole(where the bump stop is) and a hole about an inch below it. At first I had my pins going though both holes. They weren't even close to long enough. I then had to widen the bump stop hole to fit the nut and a lock washer down there. Then from underneath I put my finger in there and pushed up on the nut and lock washer and screwed in the hood pin. With the lock washer I just had to tighten the top nut. Took a little time but it worked out great!

To mark where I had to drill the holes in the hood I dropped the hood from about a foot above the hood pins. Where the indent was form the hood pins is where I drilled the hole. Worked out great. I then centered the scuff plates around the pins and widend the holes. I then put on the underside Scuff plates with the 4 screws provided.

After I got the underside Scuff Plates on I put on the top Scuff Plates with the screws provided.

The kit came with lanyards but they look like shit so I didn't put them on. I'm glad I didn't because it looks much better with them off.

Cleaning Gas Tank How-To

Here is a before picture with the very dirty Gas Tank.

This is the plastic cover that goes under the Gas Tank.

Once I removed the cover I powerwashed it and sanded it a little and then powerwashed it again.

I got a can of black spray paint and put a few coats on it to get the clean new look.

Here is the underside of my trunk with the Gas Tank removed. I noticed some little rust spots and I didn't want them to get any worse. I sanded everyting I could reach down and blew off the dirt with an air hose. I then got a can of black spray paint and coated it a few times. It turned out great and looks new!

Here is a picture with the "COBRA" rear bumper and the new clean Gas Tank! Looks much better than before.
