Ok, this is going to be long so bear with me
about 3 months ago I went and bought a 92 SC manual. I was to the point that I realized the best mod I could do to make my car faster would be to swap to a manual trans from the auto, mid 14s were nice but 13s will be better lol. So instead of swapping in a manual trans I figured itd be better for me to just start over with a new car and then put all my parts onto the new car from the old.
So I picked up the new car for 375 bucks with 150k miles a brand new stock clutch and a messed up front end. So I bought a leather interior for it, new headlights and front end parts for 200 bucks. So I have less than 600 bucks into this new car and the sucker is a stick and waaaaay nicer than the other car ever could be haha score. So slowly every weekend ive been pulling parts off the other car and putting them on the new one
Onto the setup.
Well I kept having turbo problems on the last setup, in fact it was the only problems I ever really had, so after the last turbo blew up I decided I needed something brand new or close to it. After searching ebay for a few weeks I scored a brand new masterpower TO4E for 250 bucks shipped!!! score. This turbo is way huge but I wanted something that wouldnt die on the top end and I dont mind waiting till 4500 for boost haha. I also went all out and purchased a stainless oil return line and AN fittings this time, instead of using the crappy home depot heater thing i was using before. Fuel was to be done by the megasquirt but im having problems with the one I have right now, so until thats sorted out the car will still be running only the 33lb injectors.
For my manifold I did something crazy and different that I thought might be able to help save some cash if it works lol. I bought a ssautocrap mazda miata 1.8l turbo header off ebay for 75 dollas shipped to my house. This manifold is equal length and stainless steel. Since it was for a 1.8 liter the runners were off slightly, so i lopped the miata flange off and then took a torch and tried to move the runners the best I can, then bought a saturn flange off ebay for 35 dollas shipped and tig welded it back onto the manifold, I also added one brace between the turbo flange and mounting fange, for that I used a peice of 1/2 inch steel rod, then I coated the manifold in hight temp back paint. The only issue with fitment is theres a small peice off the block I had to dremel away where a bolt would go for the a/c bracket. Also there may be a problem with the turbo and wastegate clearing the hood but its going to look fu ck in sweet. If your cracker azz can weld then you could have a purdy manifold for a little over 100 bucks
For the wastgate I decided to go again with another ssautocrap peice. I bought the 35mm with 8 psi spring, this was a nice kit cause it came with every thing I needed to install it and it was cheap only 150 bucks. I also spent HOURS looking over posts on both honda tech and on here and other forums and the general concensus was that the wastgates usually arent too bad quality so hopefully i didnt screw myself but well see.
I also had to get ahold of a 3" vband clamp, then I ordered one 3" mandrel u bend for my exhaust dumptube hahaha. those were like 35 bucks.
Last setup I didnt have a welder so all my intercooler piping was cut and then attached with all silicone couplers, like eleven of them lol. so I welded up all new pipes and now theres only like 4 couplers on the whole thing. I also am painting the pipes with some rustoleum(red) so they dont rust like before.
My vacuum block setup is sooooo much sweeter than before too. I bought a fuel distribution block from jegs that has one large hole for the main port and then three small ones to branch off from and the best part is its chrome, bling pow. this was only 12 dollars
Im trying to think what else is new, anything not mentioned is the same shizat as before just on a new car with a stick woot.
for those that dont read all good
the new setup
TO4E turbo (no hybrids here playa) $245
miata manifold chopped and fitted with a satty flange $145
ssautocrap wastegate 35mm $150
3" downpipe $70
33lb injectors for fuel $15
slim fans $70
no power steering $priceless
ebay FMIC $220

-10AN return line $40 with fittings and all that
feed line $dont remember lets say 40
2.25" steel intercooler piping $40
