Hey all,
come in and check out my first ride. its a Toyota celica TA-22 1973 model the first of the celicas. As you can see from some of the pics its not quite as good as some of the other cars on this website but its good enough for my first car.
The engine on this car ,suprisingly, isnt stock. Its the 2lt twin cam version of the 4 cyl. it also has a couple of other bits on its that make it really purr :). Its got twin, dual throated, side draft solex carbies, a racing 5 speed gearbox and a nice sports exhauset that really gives it a note.
Ive got only a few photos of the car at the moment and im working on getting some more so heres the first installment :D.

thats a picture after my dad and I had done a bit of work on it. It had big decals up the side and we got there and pulled them off. heres a pic it with the decals still on :D

My interior is pretty much stock. it used to have sass racing seats in it but i had to take em out and sell em. why you ask ... well because i couldnt fit in my own car :( and also because they wouldnt fold up to let ppl get in the back.

My car may be seeing the road pretty soon. i can get my learners licence in 4 or so months. Im going to learn how to drive on the road im my mums car.

heres some more pics :)

(11/01/05) bee a long time since and update on whats going on with my car. ive got my L's finally (on the third try :P) ive gotten my seats fixed up and i got some carpet for xmas (smoke grey in colour) thinking of getting some personalised plates. if anyones got any suggestions for me plz sign my guestbook and tell me what you think would work. im thinkin about getting some retro ones (black and white -there cheaper-) and having NOS-022. also planing on getting a new head unit for it. im thinkin of getting a pioneer DEH-P560MP :) go to http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/product/detail/0,,2076_4041_64485157,00.html if you want to check one out

also found out that my engine isnt original its actually off a GT version of my celica. so the horsepower and top speed ratings are only esimates :)

17/03/2005 - just a quick though ... the horse power (150ish) is at the fly not the wheels (i only wish it was) thinking of getting some more pics soon ... ones that have nice reflections not like the flat previous pics ive taken.

24/12/2005 - its been a long time since my last update and alot has happened. I got my P's so my celica is now driven daily. been sorting through problems with it as i go (like the fuel hose leaking, no wonder it wasnt fuel effecient at first) dad and i installed an audio system. Has a cd player (some korean brand :P) 2 200w 6" kenwood speakers in the front and 2 250w 6"x9" speakers in the back (again another random brand). Also since my last post i had my car dyno tuned as it wasnt idling properly and was also surging (accelerating and then dropping back by itself) at around 60 km/h. the results show that ive got 70ish horsepower at the wheels which i thought was pretty good for a 32 year old car.

yeah its alright...not as good as a Orange TORANA or a Red pintara TRX for that matter. But i guess you need to start at the bottom and work up eventually. Plus i dont think you could handle the power bro...keep it up!!!

That engine is it the 2L 4cl? and does it have the yammaha head? Also id suggest not lowering the car too much because that could mess up the suspenion geometry, mine is low enough so that i can only fit my head sideways under the car....and thats very annoying :)
