New Air Ride Technologies Air suspension

Its just had the front clip off (2 weeks ago) and i've striped back to bare all under the guards, these have been repaintted & reundersealed. Also put new rubber seals on (radiator sup 2 fender). Powder coated, A-arms, bumper braces etc. Installed custom Air-ride Technologies "Shockwave" air bags. Rides and drives awsome with these.

***UPDATE***

Unfortunatly the Ride Tech (Air Ride Technologies) Air Bags have failled, not once but twice..

The first set did about 200km then the ride went bouncy. The shocks seals had worn out in this short time and oil was coming out!

The Second set did about 1500km and then the same thing happened. The cause was the design of the top mount. The bags have a stem mount (the same as an original shock) when the suspension was moving through its travel this mount was not allowing the shock to pivot at the mount and instead it was trying to pivot on the shock shaft (esentaily moving the piston of the shock sideways) this caused premature failure of the single shock seals. The bad news is that Air Ride refused to refund or repair the damaged bags, leaving me out of pocket just over $2k! I have had a engineer look at them at he also concluded that the design was at fault. One of the techs at Air ride also said about a new top mount that they have with a ball joint on top, but he said that they are trying to sell the old stuff first!

If you do use there products make sure you DO NOT buy any with the stem/bushed top mount, opt for a spherical bearing or the ball joint (swivel stud top mount).

Other than the crap customer service, worthless warrantys and lack of reliablity there product was quite good in terms of ride quality & handling.

Really a shame about your bad lu8ck with the Air Ride setup. The car is lookin' great! Five stars to ya...come check out my '63. Redid the trunk w/ new upholstery. Winter projects include new front end, the bump steer is driving me crazy. Later

That's a nice and sweet classic '63! Those early 60's Fairlanes are a blast! I love the way you've done the interior and the trunk, gave me some ideas on my wagon...lol. Very cool ride! Great works done too. Definitely 5 BIG stars and 2 thumbs up for you there, brother! Cheers!!!
