MSD Box

Here is the mounting plate Joe made to securely place the MSD box under the fender area of the car on the passenger side.

He set it up to add a few of the extra loose relays and fuses that were cluttering up the frame rail of the car.

Also the box to the left is part of the wigwag headlight mod I added to the car for laughs!

You can see he added the rubber mounts to reduce any vibrations. The cool thing was that one became the ground for a few of the accessoried run in that area.

Right above the front fender brace...

Here it is mounted in the car!

FUEL
****************************************

Since I stepped to the 3.4L, Joe and I have been discussing fuel...No one in their right mind would do a 305 to 350 block swap w/o upgrading the fuel pump. How is a 2.8 block to a 3.4 any different? The fuel pump has to be larger for the 3.4 then the 2.8L, which means mine w/ a stock 2.8 pump is not flowing enough.
Research found:
ep240(AC delco for V6) 50 psi, 16gph flow (60 liters per hour)
ep241(AC delco for V8) 50 psi, 24gph flow (88 liters per hour)
Need to find the 3.4s flow rate...but...

302 mustangs have 80 lph pumps and this is considered way too low for low to mid 200hp range...it holds the car back...the common upgrade for this engine is a 105 lph for the low 200hp cars and 155 lph on the mid 200hp cars...

So we are thinking that the 155 lph Mustang pump, with the further porting and such might just do the trick! Even if it is overkill the car's return system will handle the load till its turbo time! Thne I will need ever bit of that pump and then some!

Well I got the pump from T-Byrne. Great Company BTW! I'm very pleased with them. Helpful, prompt, know their stuff!

The pump is installed,

but untested at this point. We are still working on getting the car running as the engine bay was in need for a serious makeover. So with all the mods going on at once, it was figured to be a good time to do it all!

this is the best most informative site on cardomain.com ive ever been on! i love pontiacs and i own a 94 Grand Prix you should come check out sometime. I definately think that u should make ur own site for this generation of Firebirds! Great job on the car, and the hood looks good, ive seen a couple Grand Prix's in the 92-96 gen. that molded the RAM II scoops to the hood and made it look nice, i think someday im going to do the same! PS i had to add u to my friends so i can come back to the site all week at work just to read it all!
