Here is my Falcon story followed by pictures of my original Falcon, my project car and my convertible.

My infatuation with Falcon's began back in 1982. My Grandparent's had a 1965 Falcon Futura 2 Door Sedan that they kept at their summer home and used only for errands. My Grandfather was the Captain of the Teaneck Police Department in 1966 and he received a call from a body shop about a wrecked car they had. They told him about the 1965 Falcon and that it could be repaired and they would sell it to him for $1,500 (a little more than 1/2 of what it was new). In addition, they informed him that the original owner was an elderly lady, Ms. Bridie Kennedy of Tenefly, NJ, and that she died as a result of her injuries from the head on collision. That didn't bother my Grandfather and he bought the car but he always neglected to tell my Grandmother about it's history.

I was at their house on vacation in 1982 when I was 13 years years old and really fell in love with the car. I washed it, waxed it and basically worked on it for my whole vacation. My Grandmother saw how much the car meant to me and gave it to me. I was 13 and owned my first car. I called her Bridie in honor of her first owner.

I fixed it all up in high school but admittedly let it rot for the last 17 years. It would just be too hard to restore at this point. I will not cannibalize it either. I'm going to let Bridie waste away in peace with just 46,000 original miles.

This is what she looked like in 1987.

This is what she looks like today. I rebuilt the engine 5 years ago when the valves stuck from sitting for 10 years. She runs great but the cowl & floor pans are rusted out so it's basically too far gone to repair.

thanks for the answer that helps alot! i actually have a 302 i pulled out of a 69 mustang. its a 4v engine. and yes the granada is the car i would love to find but frankly there isnt many around here that havent been picked up. or there too nice to tear up and also out of my price range. i also am looking at a 73 comet v8 car. i know the rear end will fit with not having to be shortened. but again i was wondering about the spindles. if you know the answer to this question that would be awesome! i shure will be keeping you posted on my project's progress as it will be very busy once the weather turns around. my boss has a booth so im getting the car sprayed for the price of the paint. that meant all savings are going into the drivetrain! will have pics asap.

I have a question for you, I found a 64 fairlane 4 door with the 260 for sale down near my house. hes asking 500 for it. I have the money to buy the car to use the rear end and such but was wondering if you know if the spindles are usable for my 65 falcon. i have all the v8 steering components for a 65 already. but will the spindles fit with the correct tie rods?
