************************************************************************************************************************ BUILDING THE SUB BOX: COVERING & FINAL INSTALL ************************************************************************************************************************
*************************************** Carpet ***************************************
Started with the sides using standard black box carpet. The top I planned to cover with ACC carpet identical to that of my interior. But it looked like carp and would not fit right, so I went with some super fluffy speaker box carpet. It actually matched what was on the backs of my seat covers better then the ACC, so I thought why not leave some excess and drape it over the whole rear section. That way the box has a seamless install! Worked like a charm!
Now originally I wanted to have the subs facing normally. The more I looked at my cubic feet in the box, the more clear it was that I was cutting tihing close. I decided to invert the speakers for the time being. Plus the new guys look amazing inverted! Once I have time to go back and build the fiberglass top with the new subs, I will be able to dome their mounting point enough to make up the cubic space...
So here are subs mounted... They are a german brand: Volfenhag. I heard mixed reviews, but we are going to see!
Eventually new amps will be mounted in in the backs of the back seats and the subs will have a fiberglass top painted gloss black. The center b/w the subs will have some custom raised design and lighting effect!

No melting in the heat with my coating, but gas will make it melt as will other car chemicals! I would say heat softens the stuff, but all mine is out of direct sunlight and is undercarpet padding, or under paneling... so it causes no problems! In the dead of summer sitting on hot asphalt I have never noticed the underside coating melting, though I sealed it by painting it.

Nice Ride! I've read a comment about the undercoating melting and stinking in the summer heat... did you ever get that problem?

Yo thats a sweet ride, but whats with the pioneer stuff. you are getting new subs huh. The best out there i've heard, beats JL and Memphis are DDs Digital Designs out of Oklahoma City. I have 2 tens, in my truck, they have the most bass. oughta find some and listen. when install right,DAMN. but sweet ride. You put in a lot of hard work.
