THE BIG 50! In October of 2004, my 1955 Chevrolet turned 50 years old. My car was built during the earlier 1955 Chevy production months. The car rolled off the assembly line some day in October 1954. Soon enough it will be restored to its former glory!

This is a picture of the 1955 Chevy Bel Air 2-Door Sedan as I bought it. The left quarter panel and door were worked on by a previous owner, and replacement panels were attached with rivets instead of welds. The right door and quarter panels have also been worked on with body filler.

The engine compartment is solid, but the inner fender skirts were cut out to fit different headers. The skirts will need to be replaced.

The interior: The floorpans are decent, but might have to be replaced once the car is cleaned to bare metal. The A-pillar is solid. The dash was cut into to fit aftermarket gauges. To restore the original look, the dash will have to be repaired.

Underneath the extra parts, the trunk metal is thin and in areas full of holes and repairs.
Both left and right fenders are solid with little to no rust over the eyebrows. The hood is also in good condition.
